Può un cinema muto di inizio Novecento essere Rock? Il potere dell'arte risponde sì.
Il progetto Cronache Lomelline unisce b-movies anni '70 e sonorità del Prog Rock Italiano, un ambizioso calderone in cui aleggiano pozioni e streghe, come amava dire lo scrittore noir milanese Andrea G. Pinketts.
Si narra di un serial che si sviluppa su tre stagioni, per un totale di 21 episodi. Ogni episodio consiste di due parti: l'apertura affidata a un narratore, che introduce la vicenda; il video di una canzone, corredato da immagini in stile film muto.
Il risultato percorre sentieri horror in stile H. P. Lovecraft, il tutto filtrato con sagace ironia. Le vicende si svolgono in una zona immaginaria della Pianura Padana chiamata Lomellina Meridionale. Le riprese si sono svolte interamente in Lomellina (con qualche sconfinamento in Monferrato) e hanno coinvolto attori e maestranze locali.
Ma chi è Berlino Mon Amour? È una casa di produzione esistente dal 2010 che persegue la sua visione di un cinema fortemente legato al territorio. Nel 2011 Berlino Mon Amour pubblica "Il Tarlo", della band Corvi Di Pietra, nominato anche nel libro enciclopedico "Rock Progressivo Italiano 1980 – 2013" (Arcana).
Nel 2014 Berlino Mon Amour avvia una proficua collaborazione con il regista Stefano Poletti (video per Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Baustelle, Nek; collaborazioni con Armani, Wind, Microsoft). Il risultato di questo connubio è il film "Le Sette Vite Di Solomon Phillips".
Ma veniamo a "Il Club Dei Necrofili" (stagione 2):

Così descrivono le note che accompagnano il lavoro: "Per quanto polizia e forze dell'ordine tentino di fare qualcosa, una nuova ondata di omicidi crea caos e terrore in Lomellina. Anche il giornalista Jack Sciacallo indaga sulla vicenda. E di sicuro potrebbe rispondere a molte domande: chi sono i due killer vestiti di nero? Perché Brigitte von Staufen ha assunto Max Benetti, il chiacchierato investigatore privato di Tetroborgo? E che ruolo ha nella vicenda la cosiddetta Chiesa del Sigillo Interstellare? Ma neppure Jack conosce tutta la verità…".
La voce interpreta in maniera recitata le canzoni, spesso adiacente al mondo degli Elio E Le Storie Tese anche per le vocalità. Effetti, narrazioni, fughe di tastiere infarciscono il percorso. L'ironia è alla base del prodotto. Ovviamente non mancano i cambi umorali e situazioni tetre. Tra i frangenti più interessanti ci sono "Via Dei Tigli 26", la criptica "La Cattedrale" dalle sfumature vintage, e la progressiva "La Maledizione Dei Faraoni", ma tutto è collegato e quindi compattamente omogeneo.
La seconda produzione è "Colui Che Divora Le Galassie" (stagione 3):

Così le note biografiche: "Mentre polizia e forze dell'ordine brancolano nel buio, una terrificante ondata di suicidi investe Tetroborgo. Anche il giornalista Jack Sciacallo indaga sulla vicenda. E di sicuro potrebbe rispondere a molte domande: chi ha svaligiato il Museo di Tetroborgo rubando i quadri dipinti da Geremia Foscari, il pittore maledetto? E che ruolo ha nella faccenda l'investigatore Max Benetti? Ma neppure Jack conosce tutta la verità…".
Lo stile musicale prosegue le orme del predecessore, con interventi gioviali come in "Natale Formato Kalashnikov", le ricerche strutturali e corali di "El Alamein", la narrata e recitata "I Giardini Di Pietra" e l'ottima "Mentre Il Titanic Affonda", degna conclusione di otto minuti. La presentazione si terrà il 31-10-2025 alle ore 19.45, nei locali dell'ex SOMS di Suardi (PV). La proiezione sarà preceduta da un rinfresco di benvenuto riservato agli invitati e da una presentazione del prof. Carlo Pesce, docente di materie letterarie, critico d'arte, pubblicista, da anni collaboratore della pagina culturale de "Il Piccolo". Tra un episodio e l'altro del serial si svolgerà la conferenza stampa, in cui il prof. Pesce porrà domande a regista e attori principali, con spazio per eventuali domande di stampa e pubblico.

Can a silent cinema from the early 20th century be rock? The power of art says yes.
The Lomelline Chronicles project combines 1970s B-movies with Italian Prog Rock sounds, an ambitious blend where potions and witches hover, as the Milanese noir writer Andrea G. Pinketts used to say.
The story unfolds over three seasons, for a total of 21 episodes. Each episode consists of two parts: the opening narrated by a voiceover, introducing the story; and the music video, accompanied by images in a silent film style.
The result explores horror paths in the style of H.P. Lovecraft, filtered through witty irony. The story takes place in an imaginary area of the Po Valley called Lomellina Meridionale. The filming took place entirely in Lomellina (with some incursions into Monferrato) and involved local actors and crew members.
But who is Berlino Mon Amour? It's a production company founded in 2010 that pursues its vision of a cinema strongly linked to the territory. In 2011, Berlino Mon Amour released "Il Tarlo" by the band Corvi Di Pietra, mentioned in the encyclopedic book "Italian Progressive Rock 1980-2013" (Arcana).
In 2014, Berlino Mon Amour began a fruitful collaboration with director Stefano Poletti (videos for Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Baustelle, Nek; collaborations with Armani, Wind, Microsoft). The result of this partnership is the film "The Seven Lives of Solomon Phillips".
But let's move on to "Il Club Dei Necrofili" (season 2):

The notes accompanying the work describe it thus: "Despite the police and law enforcement agencies' efforts, a new wave of murders creates chaos and terror in Lomellina. Journalist Jack Sciacallo investigates the case. And he might be able to answer many questions: who are the two killers dressed in black? Why did Brigitte von Staufen hire Max Benetti, the notorious private investigator from Tetroborgo? And what role does the so-called Church of the Interstellar Seal play in the story? But even Jack doesn't know the whole truth…".
The vocals are delivered in a recited style, often adjacent to the world of Elio E Le Storie Tese, also in terms of vocal delivery. Effects, narration, and keyboard passages enrich the journey. Irony is the foundation of the product. Of course, mood swings and dark situations are not lacking. Among the most interesting tracks are "Via Dei Tigli 26", the cryptic "La Cattedrale" with vintage undertones, and the progressive "La Maledizione Dei Faraoni", but everything is connected and cohesive.

The second production is "Colui Che Divora Le Galassie" (season 3):

The biographical notes read: "While the police and law enforcement agencies are in the dark, a terrifying wave of suicides hits Tetroborgo. Journalist Jack Sciacallo investigates the case. And he might be able to answer many questions: who stole the paintings by Geremia Foscari, the cursed painter, from the Tetroborgo Museum? And what role does investigator Max Benetti play in the affair? But even Jack doesn't know the whole truth…".
The musical style follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, with playful interventions like "Natale Formato Kalashnikov", the structural and choral explorations of "El Alamein", the narrated and recited "I Giardini Di Pietra", and the excellent "Mentre Il Titanic Affonda", a worthy eight-minute conclusion. The Halloween premiere:
The presentation will take place on October 31, 2025, at 7:45 PM, at the former SOMS premises in Suardi (PV). The screening will be preceded by a welcome refreshment reserved for invited guests and a presentation by Prof. Carlo Pesce, lecturer in literary subjects, art critic, and journalist, who has collaborated with the cultural page of "Il Piccolo" for years. Between episodes, a press conference will take place, where Prof. Pesce will ask questions to the director and main actors, with space for questions from the press and the public.
