Certi miti sono difficili da criticare con obbiettività, ma con modestia ci proverò.
Alcune band storiche nel corso della loro lunga esistenza hanno subito pesanti defezioni, come nel caso della dipartita di Francesco Di Giacomo per il Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, oppure semplici abbandoni, com’è accaduto a Peter Gabriel nei Genesis, eppure come ha saputo dire Freddy Mercury “The Show Must Go On”, anche se i vecchi fans di alcune band a cui è successo il misfatto, non sono rimasti soddisfatti. Nel caso dei Genesis però le vendite hanno raccontato l’esatto contrario, questo per affermare che in verità gli eventi vanno analizzati caso per caso, e non è possibile farne di tutta l’erba un fascio.
Certo è che il fatto dei lagunari Le Orme è davvero difficile da digerire, in quanto Aldo Tagliapietra con la sua voce non ha messo un sigillo qualitativo sullo stile della band, ma un vero e proprio macigno, per questo la scissione ha davvero fatto sanguinare i fans. Negli anni Le Orme hanno proseguito nel Rock Progressivo sostituendo il bassista cantante con Jimmy Spitaleri (Metamorfosi), un altro grande artista del settore, così Michi Dei Rossi (batterista e possessore del marchio Orme) e Michele Bon (tastiere) prendono in mano le redini della band e proseguono senza stravolgere troppo lo stile storico. Non hanno realizzato album memorabili ma di sicuro di buon interesse, “La Via Della Seta” (Love Music 2011) e “Sulle Ali Di Un Sogno” (2019 - Sony Music) sono discreti lavori che sarà il tempo a decidere se verranno ricordati come classici, credo tuttavia che non raggiungeranno i fasti di “Felona E Sorona” oppure di “Uomo Di Pezza”. Per restare saldati ai fans, infatti, registrano anche tre album legati in qualche modo al passato, “Le Orme Prognight Live 2013” con la partecipazione de La Storia New Trolls, “Felona E Sorona 2016” (2016 – Love Music) e “Classic Orme” (2017 – Love Music).
Oggi con “Le Orme & Friends” c’è da sottolineare lo sforzo creativo della band che vuole gridare al mondo “Questi siamo noi!”, così raggruppano tantissimi artisti noti nel campo, da Nico Di Palo (New Trolls), gli Osanna, i Mangala Vallis, i Trip, Sezione Frenante, Le Folli Arie, Moongarden, Monkey Diet, Alex Carpani, Francesco Sartori, Tal Neunder, Jimmi Spitaleri, ma soprattutto gli storici Tony Pagliuca e Tolo Marton. Un’operazione quantomeno grandiosa.
Tutto questo accade per i cinquantasette anni di esistenza della band, la quale all’inizio dell’anno parte con un crowdfunding per raggiungerne lo scopo.
“Le Orme & Friends” è dunque un lavoro corale ma Aldo non ha voluto partecipare, sentendosi in questo caso “un ospite in casa propria”, ciò a confermare l’insanabile rottura. Un tour a Legnano anticipa l’album che a detta degli artisti stessi, dovrebbe essere anche l’ultimo della loro splendida carriera. Su questo nutro forti dubbi, chi ama la musica e soprattutto chi ci vive, è vero che magari si getta anima e corpo in nuovi progetti, ma prima o poi la storia ci racconta che avranno un inevitabile ricaduta. Per questo…Vedremo, intanto il doppio lp composto di ventisette canzoni girerà spesso nel mio impianto stereo, non per nostalgia (un poco anche quella, lo confesso), ma per la buona qualità delle composizioni. I professionisti non sbagliano quasi mai. Un tributo fatto di brani inediti con più alti che bassi, un modo corale per abbracciare questo modello lagunare per non farselo più sfuggire, ma sono altresì sicuro che non serve tutto ciò per incastonare le Orme nella storia, già ci risiedono per merito… E che merito! Tagliapietra ha dunque il diritto di eclissare, così come Le Orme quello di realizzare. Comunque miti, e il mondo vi ringrazia! MS

Some myths are difficult to criticize objectively, but with modesty I will try. Some historic bands in the course of their long existence have suffered heavy defections, as in the case of Francesco Di Giacomo's departure for Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, or simple dropouts, as happened to Peter Gabriel in Genesis, yet as Freddy Mercury was able to say, "The Show Must Go On," even if the old fans of some bands to whom the misdeed happened, were not satisfied. In the case of Genesis, however, sales have told the exact opposite, this is to say that in truth events must be analyzed on a case-by-case basis, and it is not possible to lump them all together.
Of course, the fact of the Laguna-based Le Orme is really hard to digest, as Aldo Tagliapietra with his voice did not put a qualitative seal on the band's style, but a real boulder, which is why the split really made fans bleed. Over the years Le Orme continued in Progressive Rock by replacing the vocalist bassist with Jimmy Spitaleri (Metamorfosi), another great artist in the field, so Michi Dei Rossi (drummer and owner of the Orme trademark) and Michele Bon (keyboards) took over the reins of the band and continued without upsetting the historical style too much. They have not made memorable albums but certainly of good interest, "La Via Della Seta" (Love Music 2011) and "Sulle Ali Di Un Sogno" (2019 - Sony Music) are decent works that time will decide whether they will be remembered as classics, I believe, however, that they will not reach the splendor of "Felona E Sorona" or "Uomo Di Pezza." In fact, to stay welded to the fans, they also record three albums related in some way to the past, "Le Orme Prognight Live 2013" featuring La Storia New Trolls, "Felona E Sorona 2016" (2016 - Love Music) and "Classic Orme" (2017 - Love Music).
Today with "Le Orme & Friends" there is to emphasize the creative effort of the band that wants to shout to the world "This is us!", so they group together so many well-known artists in the field, from Nico Di Palo (New Trolls), Osanna, Mangala Vallis, Trip, Sezione Frenante, Le Folli Arie, Moongarden, Monkey Diet, Alex Carpani, Francesco Sartori, Tal Neunder, Jimmi Spitaleri, but above all the historical Tony Pagliuca and Tolo Marton. A great operation, to say the least.
All this happens for the fifty-seven years of the band's existence, which at the beginning of the year starts with a crowdfunding to reach its goal.
"Le Orme & Friends" is thus a choral work but Aldo did not want to participate, feeling in this case "a guest in his own house," this confirming the irremediable break. A tour in Legnano anticipates the album, which according to the artists themselves, should also be the last of their splendid career. On this I have strong doubts, those who love music and especially those who live in it, it is true that maybe they throw themselves heart and soul into new projects, but sooner or later history tells us that they will have an inevitable fallout.
For that...We'll see, meanwhile the double lp consisting of twenty-seven songs will be spinning often in my stereo system, not because of nostalgia (a little of that too, I confess), but because of the good quality of the compositions. The professionals almost never fail. A tribute made up of unreleased songs with more highs than lows, a choral way of embracing this lagoon model never to be missed again, but I am also sure that none of this is needed to embed Orme in history, they already reside there on merit... And what merit! Tagliapietra therefore has the right to eclipse, just as The Orme has the right to achieve. However myths, and the world thanks you! MS
