TRASIMENO PROG FESTIVAL 2025

Il Trasimeno Prog Festival animerà le serate tra il 21 e il 24 agosto 2025, toccando location tra il Lago Trasimeno e Perugia. L'evento inizierà il 21 agosto presso la Rocca Medievale di Castiglione del Lago con l'esibizione del Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, storico gruppo del panorama progressive italiano. La serata di venerdì 22 agosto, sempre nella cornice della rocca medievale di Castiglione del Lago, sarà dedicata alla Pink Flow Night. Sabato 23 agosto vedrà ancora Castiglione del Lago protagonista con la King Crimson Night, un omaggio a un'altra pietra miliare del progressive rock. La conclusione del festival è prevista per il 24 agosto a Perugia, presso i giardini del Frontone, con la proiezione integrale del film "Profondo Rosso" in occasione del suo cinquantesimo anniversario. Questa edizione del festival offre un viaggio attraverso le diverse sfumature del rock progressivo, culminando in un evento speciale dedicato a una pellicola iconica.

Articolata ancora una volta in quattro giornate, la manifestazione quest’anno presenta un cartellone che pesca non solo sul versante della musica italiana, ma anche su quello straniero. Si parte il 21 agosto alla Rocca Medievale di Castiglione del Lago giovedì con il ritorno (dopo l’edizione 2021), del Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, fresco della pubblicazione del nuovo album Storie invisibili; la band capitanata da Vittorio Nocenzi sarà di nuovo in Umbria, con la formazione che vede tra le sue fila l’ingresso definitivo del figlio Michelangelo alle tastiere ed il recente inserimento del batterista Andrea Bruni.

Il 22 agosto spazio alla musica dei Pink Floyd con tre formazioni italiane (l’inizio dei concerti sarà anticipato alle 20:30), con l’esecuzione di tre album della band inglese. I primi saranno gli umbri Drunk Side che presenteranno la loro versione di Wish you were here; a seguire i liguri Finisterre, che per festeggiare trent’anni dalla fondazione hanno pensato di “esplorare” l’iconico The dark side of the moon mentre a concludere la serata saranno i romani Ranestrane. La loro performance, denominata “Il Cinecorncerto”, prevederà una personale rilettura di The wall.

Il 23 agosto l’ultima serata a Castiglione del Lago sarà dedicata ad un’altra band inglese, i King Crimson. Per farlo sul palco ci sarà un altro gruppo romano, i King Crimson Project,mentre il piatto forte arriverà poi con un ospite straniero; dopo la presenza di Richard Sinclair nel 2022 alla Rocca Medievale, arriverà la David Cross Band. Il violinista inglese (membro ufficiale dei King Crimson tra il 1972 ed il 1974), dopo un concerto a Londra a Ferragosto, eseguirà l’intero album Lark’s tongues in aspic ed estratti da Starless and bible black e Red.

L’ultima giornata del festival, il 24 agosto, vedrà spostarsi la location da Castiglione del Lago a Perugia ed ancora e saranno di nuovo i Giardini del Frontone ad ospitare il concerto dell’ultimo artista in cartellone. In occasione dell’anniversario dei 50 anni dall’uscita di Profondo Rosso, sul palco, con la retroproiezione del film, sul palco Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin; la band del tastierista romano infatti proporrà l’intero film suonato dal vivo e gli altri successi!!!

Si rinnova infine la collaborazione con il Music Day Roma e per tutta la durata della manifestazione gli appassionati avranno la possibilità di aggiungere vinili, cd e memorabilia visitando la fiera del disco in Piazza Gramsci a Castiglione del Lago.

The Trasimeno Prog Festival will animate the evenings between August 21st and 24th, 2005, spanning locations between Lake Trasimeno and Perugia. The event will kick off on August 21st at the Medieval Fortress of Castiglione del Lago with a performance by Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, a historic group in the Italian progressive rock scene. The evening of Friday, August 22nd, also at the medieval fortress of Castiglione del Lago, will be dedicated to the Pink Floyd Night. Saturday, August 23rd, will again feature Castiglione del Lago as the protagonist with the King Crimson Night, a tribute to another milestone of progressive rock. The festival's conclusion is scheduled for August 24th in Perugia, at the Frontone Gardens, with the integral projection of the film "Profondo Rosso" on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary. This edition of the festival offers a journey through the different shades of progressive rock, culminating in a special event dedicated to an iconic film.

Once again structured over four days, the event this year features a lineup that draws not only from the Italian music scene but also from abroad. It starts on August 21st at the Medieval Fortress of Castiglione del Lago with the return (after the 2021 edition) of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, fresh from the release of their new album "Storie invisibili"; the band led by Vittorio Nocenzi will be back in Umbria with the lineup that includes the definitive addition of his son Michelangelo on keyboards and the recent inclusion of drummer Andrea Bruni.
On August 22nd, it's time for Pink Floyd music with three Italian bands (the start of the concerts will be brought forward to 8:30 PM), performing three albums by the English band. The first will be the Umbrian band Drunk Side, who will present their version of "Wish You Were Here"; followed by the Ligurian band Finisterre, who, to celebrate thirty years since their foundation, have decided to "explore" the iconic "The Dark Side of the Moon", and finally, the Roman band Ranestrane will close the evening with their performance, titled "Il Cinecorncerto", featuring a personal reinterpretation of "The Wall".
On August 23rd, the last evening at Castiglione del Lago will be dedicated to another English band, King Crimson. Another Roman group, King Crimson Project, will take the stage, and the highlight will come with a foreign guest; after Richard Sinclair's presence in 2022 at the Medieval Fortress, David Cross Band will arrive. The English violinist (an official member of King Crimson between 1972 and 1974), after a concert in London on Ferragosto, will perform the entire album "Lark's Tongues in Aspic" and excerpts from "Starless and Bible Black" and "Red".
The last day of the festival, August 24th, will see the location move from Castiglione del Lago to Perugia, and again the Frontone Gardens will host the concert of the last artist on the bill. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the release of "Profondo Rosso", on stage with the film's back-projection, Claudio Simonetti's Goblin will perform the entire film live and other hits.
The collaboration with Music Day Roma is renewed, and throughout the event, enthusiasts will have the opportunity to add vinyls, CDs, and memorabilia by visiting the record fair in Piazza Gramsci at Castiglione del Lago.
