Per i più ferrati sull’argomento Rock Progressivo Italiano di certo il nome di Marco Galletti non risulta nuovo. Infatti il tastierista di Milano, ma vissuto sin dalla tenera età ad Alessandria, è il fondatore della band Neo Prog alessandrina Arcansiel.
Studia pianoforte, ma soprattutto l’organo e associa la musica classica al Rock per un connubio che lo formerà stilisticamente e culturalmente. Verso la fine del 1990 Galletti lascia gli Arcansiel per motivi di lavoro e dedica meno tempo alla musica. Solo nel 1994 avremo tracce della sua carriera solista attraverso l’album “Boxes For Foxes”, dove lo stile Neo Prog lascia spazio a un uso della tecnologia più moderno.
Con l’ausilio della Digital Audio Workstation, nel 2005 ritorna con un altro album autoprodotto intitolato “La Luce Che Illumina I Sogni”, qui le tracce Prog si uniscono a un certo minimalismo americano. Segue un lungo stop, sino tornare nel 2023 a un approccio più concreto a livello temporale da dedicare alla musica. Il risultato è “Musical Objects”, una raccolta di oggetti musicali scritti negli ultimi quaranta anni. Delucida l’artista nel suo sito ufficiale: “Gli unici suoni "non digitali", quando necessari, sono stati eseguiti utilizzando una Fender Stratocaster del 1991 e un Fender Jazz Bass del 2006.”.
In queste dodici canzoni che compongono l’album, l’artista non si cimenta in sperimentazioni, pur cercando di evitare lo schema strofa-pre-ritornello-ritornello, bensì tende a comunicare semplici sentimenti scaturiti da ispirazioni momentanee e improvvise.
L’inizio con “L'Aria Chiara Come Non Esiste Più” mette in evidenza le influenze del compositore che rivelano scorci di Jethro Tull più pacati e Genesis in un brano che in alcuni frangenti è soffice e introspettivo, anche perché ispirato dall’esperienza molto personale, legata agli ultimi giorni di vita dei suoi genitori. Il cantato spazia dall’inglese all’italiano fino al francese donando all’intero lavoro internazionalità. Bello il sound pianistico di "As The Silence”, soffice “La Lune Est Neé”, così la leggerezza di “All Goes By” che tocca l’anima.
Tutto l’album è composto di tasselli singoli che assieme ci propinano il quadro completo. Una menzione a parte per “386”, scritta nel 1986 e che narra di un forte amore vissuto. Qui mi vengono alla mente certe Orme più delicate.
Come ben rappresenta la copertina con un uomo che cammina solitario in un paesaggio tracciato da una linea da seguire, Galletti si avventura in differenti stili musicali, ere e atmosfere per un risultato finale d’inattesa amalgama, dove tutto scorre con naturalezza. Tanta dedizione, passione e cura in questo “Musical Object”, dove di certo le emozioni non vengono a mancare. MS

For those well-versed in Italian Progressive Rock, the name Marco Galletti is certainly not new. In fact, the Milanese keyboardist, who grew up in Alessandria, is the founder of the Neo-Prog band Arcansiel.
He studied piano, but especially organ, and combines classical music with Rock for a union that will shape him stylistically and culturally. Towards the end of 1990, Galletti left Arcansiel due to work reasons and dedicated less time to music. Only in 1994 will we have traces of his solo career through the album "Boxes For Foxes", where the Neo-Prog style gives way to a more modern use of technology.
With the help of the Digital Audio Workstation, in 2005, he returned with another self-produced album titled "La Luce Che Illumina I Sogni", where Prog tracks combine with American minimalism. There follows a long hiatus until 2023, when he returns to a more concrete approach to dedicate time to music. The result is "Musical Objects", a collection of musical objects written over the last forty years. The artist clarifies on his official website: "The only 'non-digital' sounds, when necessary, were performed using a 1991 Fender Stratocaster and a 2006 Fender Jazz Bass."
In these twelve songs that make up the album, the artist doesn't venture into experimentation, while trying to avoid the verse-pre-chorus-chorus structure, but rather tends to communicate simple feelings arising from momentary and sudden inspirations.
The start with "L'Aria Chiara Come Non Esiste Più" highlights the composer's influences that reveal glimpses of calmer Jethro Tull and Genesis in a track that is soft and introspective in some moments, also because it's inspired by a very personal experience related to the last days of his parents' lives. The singing ranges from English to Italian to French, giving the whole work an international flair. Beautiful is the piano sound of "As The Silence", soft "La Lune Est Neé", as well as the lightness of "All Goes By" that touches the soul.
The whole album is composed of single pieces that together propound the complete picture. A special mention for "386", written in 1986 and which tells of a strong love experience. Here, certain delicate Orme come to mind.
As the cover perfectly represents, with a man walking alone in a landscape drawn by a line to follow, Galletti ventures into different musical styles, eras, and atmospheres for a final result of unexpected amalgamation, where everything flows naturally. So much dedication, passion, and care in this "Musical Object", where emotions are certainly not lacking. MS.
