Formatisi nel 1977 ad Acqui Terme, i Plenilunio, composti dai membri fondatori Roberto Maggiotto (voce), Valter Camparo (tastiere) e Davide Pronzato (chitarra), a cui si aggiungono Michele Pronzato (chitarra), Antonio Pirrone (batteria) e Daniele Pietrasanta (basso), tornano con il loro quarto album in studio, dopo “Respiri Lunghi 1000 miglia” (2012), “Vivo Controvento” (2017), e “Il Gioco Imperfetto” (2021).
In “Nascere Qui” approfondiscono l’appartenenza del loro luogo di nascita, attraverso piccole miniature sonore che si prestano perfettamente alla riuscita dello scopo. Non soltanto un concept musicale ma anche pittorico, con la copertina dell'album e alcune illustrazioni del booklet create da Carmelina Barbato, la quale ha donato alla band una serie di dipinti raffiguranti la città che l'ha accolta per gran parte della sua vita.
Nelle sette tracce raccontano la memoria, l'identità e i luoghi in cui si cresce, portati in vita attraverso scorci urbani, ricordi ed emozioni.
La musica proposta rispecchia un Rock Pop dalle sfumature Progressive anni ’70, il tutto con un gusto retrò che ha dell’affascinate ancora oggi. Tutto ciò è dettato soprattutto dall’uso delle tastiere le quali si ritagliano spazi nel movimento con sapienza e rispetto della storia. Lo si evince sin dall’ascolto di “Il Gatto E Le Lucciole”, canzone orecchiabile in cui i personaggi animali sono il soggetto trattato, coloro che si aggirano di notte in quel di Acqui Terme.
Come un buon disco di Rock Progressivo richiede, non esula la suite, qui di quattordici minuti e intitolata “C'erano Una Volta (Acqui E Noi)” baricentro del concept. Il classico stile italiano è inconfondibile, le melodie strumentali della chitarra di Michele Pronzato si danno staffetta con le tastiere di Valter Camparo, non c’è da stupirsi poi se queste richiamino il sound degli amici Locanda Delle Fate, ma anche Genesis.
“Ci Sentiamo” è il singolo dell’album narrante l’attuale era digitatale, il tutto su un movimento armonico pacato al limite della ballata, in cui ancora una volta le tastiere ricoprono il ruolo di protagoniste.
L’amore per La Locanda Delle Fate si palesa totalmente in “E Rimani Un Fiore”, canzone dedicata ad Alberto Gaviglio, musicista, amico e fondatore de La Locanda Delle Fate, che ha supportato la band fin dagli esordi. Tutto è molto sentito e coinvolgente emotivamente. L'album prosegue con “Lacrime Dall'Aldilà”, che immagina poeticamente le acque termali della Bollente, monumento simbolo di Acqui, come lacrime che sgorgano da una divinità lontana. Sembra di nuotare dentro gli anni ’70, lasciandosi trascinare dalle onde sonore.
“Ebro Di Te” è così descritta dagli stessi autori: “La canzone vede la partecipazione del chitarrista ospite Riccardo Pronzato e del bassista storico Roberto Camparo, è una lettera d'amore alla musica stessa, la forza che ha unito i fondatori della band nella loro giovinezza.”. Meglio non avrei potuto dire. La chiusura spetta a un brano storico della band scritto nel 1983, “Signora Della Notte”. Qui si possono estrapolare le caratteristiche di quegli anni, quando la canzone più semplice prende il posto di quella articolata. Il processo è capitato a molti, dalla PFM al Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, perché chi ha suonato Prog Rock negli anni ‘70 ma si è saputo adeguare agli anni ’80, sono sopravvissuti sino a oggi. In fin dei conti lo diceva anche Darwin, “Non è la più forte delle specie che sopravvive, né la più intelligente, ma quella più reattiva ai cambiamenti.".
“Nascere Qui” è un piacevole album con cui passeggiare per le vie di Acqui Terme in tutte le ore della giornata con le cuffie in testa e il volume alto. La bellezza spesso risiede nelle piccole cose. MS

Formed in 1977 in Acqui Terme, the Plenilunio, composed of founding members Roberto Maggiotto (vocals), Valter Camparo (keyboards), and Davide Pronzato (guitar), to whom Michele Pronzato (guitar), Antonio Pirrone (drums), and Daniele Pietrasanta (bass) are added, return with their fourth studio album after "Respiri Lunghi 1000 miglia" (2012), "Vivo Controvento" (2017), and "Il Gioco Imperfetto" (2021).
In "Nascere Qui", they explore their birthplace's belonging through small sonic miniatures that perfectly serve the purpose. Not just a musical concept but also a pictorial one, with the album cover and some booklet illustrations created by Carmelina Barbato, who gifted the band a series of paintings depicting the city that welcomed her for much of her life.
In the seven tracks, they tell the memory, identity, and places where one grows up, brought to life through urban scenes, memories, and emotions.
The proposed music reflects 1970s-style Progressive Rock with a Pop Rock base, all with a retro taste that still fascinates today. This is largely due to the use of keyboards, which carve out spaces in the movement with knowledge and respect for history. This is evident from the listening of "Il Gatto E Le Lucciole", a catchy song where animal characters are the subject, those that roam at night in Acqui Terme.
As a good Progressive Rock disc requires, the suite is not lacking, here it's fourteen minutes long and titled "C'erano Una Volta (Acqui E Noi)", the centerpiece of the concept. The classic Italian style is unmistakable, the instrumental melodies of Michele Pronzato's guitar alternate with Valter Camparo's keyboards, and it's no surprise that these recall the sound of friends Locanda Delle Fate, but also Genesis.
"Ci Sentiamo" is the album's single, narrating the current digital era, all on a calm harmonic movement bordering on ballad, where keyboards once again play the lead role.
The love for La Locanda Delle Fate is evident in "E Rimani Un Fiore", a song dedicated to Alberto Gaviglio, musician, friend, and founder of La Locanda Delle Fate, who supported the band from the beginning. Everything is very heartfelt and emotionally engaging. The album continues with "Lacrime Dall'Aldilà", which poetically imagines the thermal waters of the Bollente, a symbol of Acqui, as tears flowing from a distant deity. It feels like swimming in the 1970s, letting oneself be carried away by the sound waves.
"Ebro Di Te" is described by the authors themselves: "The song features guest guitarist Riccardo Pronzato and historic bassist Roberto Camparo, it's a love letter to music itself, the force that united the band's founders in their youth." I couldn't have said it better. The closing track is a historic song by the band written in 1983, "Signora Della Notte". Here, one can extract the characteristics of those years when the simpler song takes the place of the more complex one. This process happened to many, from PFM to Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, because those who played Prog Rock in the 1970s but adapted to the 1980s have survived to this day. After all, Darwin also said, "It's not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change."
"Nascere Qui" is a pleasant album to stroll through the streets of Acqui Terme at any time of day with headphones on and the volume up. Beauty often lies in small things. MS
