Quando
nella musica si leggono nomi particolari come ad esempio Il Balletto Di Bronzo,
Raccomandata Ricevuta Ritorno, Quella Vecchia Locanda, Premiata Forneria
Marconi, Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, vuol dire che la musica suonata dalla band
in questione è relegata agli anni ’70 e al Rock Progressivo. Non è una regola
che vale per tutte le formazioni intendiamoci, ma in principal modo si, il Rock
in Italia negli anni ’70 grazie anche alla controcultura, non vuole essere più banale
e si getta nella ricerca divenendo la cosiddetta “musica colta”. Un
altro nome interessante che inizia la propria carriera nel 1974 grazie a Dino
Fiore e al suo amico d'infanzia Paulo Ferrarotti, è quello de Il Castello Di
Atlante. Generalmente
il sound proposto è di matrice anglofona, con influenze Genesis su tutte, ma
all’interno coesistono diverse soluzioni tanto da rendere il risultato sonoro
mai banale e alquanto sinfonico. Pur iniziando presto la carriera, solamente
nel 1992 esordiscono in studio con l’album “Sono Io Il Signore Delle Terre A
Nord” (Vinyl Magic), un sunto di tanto materiale raccolto negli anni. I tempi
cambiano ma non la voglia di suonare certa musica, così anche Il Castello Di Atlante
si adegua alla tecnologia regalando ai propri fans questo EP “Memorabilia”
composto di tre brani inediti suonati dalla vecchia formazione, e due nuovi con
la band attuale in formato digitale scaricabile negli appositi store.
Personalmente vi consiglio di andare a ricercare l’intera discografia composta di
sei album e un live, la qualità delle composizioni farà di certo piacere a chi
è amante di questo stile sonoro che sembra non subire le svolte del tempo. L’EP
si apre con “Amico Di Sempre”, pezzo molto Rock grazie all’uso delle chitarre
elettriche e una ritmica sostenuta, ma il cambio umorale è sempre dietro l’angolo
e chi ascolta Prog lo sa bene.Un tuffo
nel passato che ha sempre dell’affascinante. “Può
Succedere Così” ha il violino che istintivamente fa associare la band al sound
di Quella Vecchia Locanda, in realtà per raffinatezza delle melodie li
accosterei più alle Orme. Ancora sinfonia in “Effetto Notte”, altro bell’esempio
di classico Rock Progressivo Italiano. Sale
il ritmo con “Solo Un Uomo”, la band si muove all’unisono per suonare un brano
sia semplice sia ricercato, grazie agli arrangiamenti del pianoforte.
Personalmente ci trovo molto degli Osanna e della PFM. “Nel Vento” prosegue la
strada intrapresa in maniera più gioiosa per un risultato piacevole da seguire
con attenzione. Concludendo,
in “Memorabilia” non troverete innovazione, in effetti nessuno la richiede, ma
soltanto bella musica con melodie piacevolissime e personalmente di questi
tempi mi accontento alla grande. MS

When one reads particular names in music such as Il

played by the band in question is relegated to the 1970s and Progressive Rock.
It is not a rule that applies to all formations mind you, but mainly yes, Rock
in Italy in the 70s thanks also to the counterculture, does not want to be more
banal and throws itself into research becoming the so-called "cultured
music". Another interesting name that began its career in 1974
thanks to Dino Fiore and his childhood friend Paulo Ferrarotti is Il Castello
Di Atlante. Generally the sound proposed is Anglophone, with
Genesis influences above all, but within it various solutions coexist so that
the sonic result is never banal and somewhat symphonic. Although starting their

desire to play certain music, so even Il Castello Di Atlante adapts to

personally recommend that you go and research the entire discography consisting
of six albums and one live, the quality of the compositions will certainly
please those who are lovers of this style of sound that seems to be unaffected
by the twists and turns of time. The EP opens with "Amico Di Sempre," a very
Rock piece thanks to the use of electric guitars and a sustained rhythm, but
mood change is always around the corner and Prog listeners know this well. A dive into the past that always has some
fascination. "Può Succedere Così" has the violin that
instinctively makes the band associate with the sound of Quella Vecchia
Locanda, actually for refinement of melodies I would liken them more to Orme.
More symphony in "Effetto Notte," another fine example of classic
Italian Progressive Rock. Picking up the pace with "Solo Un Uomo," the
band moves in unison to play a song both simple and sophisticated, thanks to
the piano arrangements. Personally, I find a lot of Osanna and PFM in it.
"Nel Vento" continues the path taken in a more joyful way for a
pleasant result to follow closely. In conclusion, in "Memorabilia" you will
find no innovation, in fact no one asks for it, but only beautiful music with
very pleasant melodies and personally these days I am very happy with it. MS
