Noi italiani ci sappiamo distinguere in ambito cantautorale per i testi generalmente mai banali. Basti pensare ai grandi nomi del passato per averne una conferma, ma anche le nuove leve sanno farsi rispettare. C’è chi si getta anima e corpo nel pop impegnato e chi invece predilige i testi ironici ricchi di doppi sensi, come nel caso del duo Fabrizio Trignani e Nicola Modesti, in arte Mobili Trignani. Il nome deriva dall’attività di famiglia di Fabrizio che in passato si adoperava proprio della vendita dei mobili.
Non stiamo parlando di un progetto sconosciuto, anzi, i Mobili Trignani dal 2016 ne hanno percorsa di strada fra dischi in studio, live e audizioni. Tre sono gli album e numerosi i singoli editi nel corso della loro carriera che li vede aprire concerti a band come Marlene Kunz, Tricarico, Pan Del Diavolo, Truppi e molti altri.
Ancora fresco l’ascolto del precedente “PopArticolare” (2022 – Music Force), un disco che ha colpito nel segno per freschezza, semplicità e… Ironia, il leitmotiv trainante.  La musica ha molteplici scopi nella vita, uno dei tanti è quello di far cantare e divertire, questo il duo di Arsita (TE) l’ha ben chiaro in mente. Simpatica la copertina che ritrae i due strumentisti in una seduta psichiatrica, ciò lascia presagire lo stile di vita in cui si aggirano, soprattutto l’approccio alla musica. Dentro l’edizione cartonata dell’album c’è il libretto con i testi finalmente scritti comprensibili nero su bianco, particolare non da poco in quanto generalmente le parole sono soffocate dalle fotografie o da disegni di sorta, anche questo fa comprendere la volontà di far comprendere i testi all’acquirente, tutti segnali che hanno un unico filo conduttore, l’impegno di essere diretti. Tredici le canzoni registrate allo studio Mobile di Cassetta Records da Paul BraNeagade.
Già arguto e tagliente l’intro “Compra Mobili Trignani”, un elenco di annunci sopra un ritmo Punk, i giochi sono aperti e proseguono nel reggae di “Webinar”. Il ritornello dice tutto: “Insegnava nei corsi per non farsi fregar da chi vendeva i corsi. Concorsi e Webinar”. Nuovamente solare in un’onda di calipso la successiva “Razza”, difficile resistere al ritmo e all’ennesimo ritornello sagace. La voce non è la stessa ovviamente, ma se questa canzone fosse stata nella discografia di Rino Gaetano non ci sarebbe stato nulla di male. In “Comete” invece l’approccio è differente, vicino al mondo di Alex Britti. Di nuovo cambio di stile con “Cover”, un tributo al cantautorato antico su una base che sarebbe perfetta colonna sonora per una serata alle giostre. Trascinante e divertente, è altresì perfetta per una riuscita eccellente in una serata live.
I Mobili Trignani ne hanno per tutti, anche per la “Tim”, un sunto sull’inefficienza del servizio in casi importanti, capitato mai? La cura per la ricerca di un motivo ruffiano è tangibile in ogni pezzo, e credetemi se vi dico che non è assolutamente semplice trovare il giusto leitmotiv, questa è la caratteristica principale del duo, capace di farti comunque cantare in qualche modo. “Mi Perdo In Giro” ne è un altro esempio, comunque molto curato anche nelle coralità. Un arpeggio di chitarra introduce il momento più impegnato dell’album intitolato “Fragile”, canzone che ci fa ciondolare assieme al ritmo durante l’ascolto. Gli arrangiamenti di sottofondo sono più che indovinati, incastonati nel mondo della psichedelia. Una delle tracce più impegnate s’intitola “Pasolini”, dove all’interno Carmine Valentino Mosesso recita la poesia tratta da “La Terza Geografia”. Sale il ritmo elettronico nella gioiosa “Acqua Alla Gola”, almeno nel ritmo, perché il testo è un’amara considerazione societaria. “Nin Mi Dice Core” è liberamente tratta da “Questa E’” di Gino Bucci, prossimo all’andamento de “La Mia Banda Suona Il Rock” di Ivano Fossati. Altra messa a fuoco su un problema prettamente italico è “Triage”, amara considerazione finale dove la dottoressa in ospedale sentenzia “Giovanotto può essere tutto come può essere niente”. La chiusura spetta a “2 Senza Te” con suggestioni di chitarra per mano di Edoardo Di Massimo e Paolo Valente.
I Mobili Trignani sono in netta crescita compositiva, denoto una maggiore cura nei suoni oltre che nei testi e nelle melodie facili da memorizzare. Ho apprezzato molto anche il numero di generi musicali trattati, questo fa sì che l’ascolto proceda in maniera fluida senza importanti stop emotivi. Un disco da avere per godere di spensieratezza ma attenzione, perché dietro c’è riflessione, magari scaturita proprio da una seduta di psicanalisi. Geniali.  MS

We Italians know how to distinguish ourselves in songwriting for lyrics that are generally never banal. One only has to think of the great names of the past to confirm this, but even the new generation knows how to make themselves respected. There are those who throw themselves heart and soul into committed pop and those who prefer ironic lyrics full of double entendres, as in the case of the duo Fabrizio Trignani and Nicola Modesti, aka Trignani Furniture. The name derives from Fabrizio's family business, which in the past dealt precisely with the sale of furniture.
We are not talking about an unknown project, on the contrary, Mobili Trignani since 2016 have come a long way between studio records, live performances and auditions. Three are the albums and numerous singles released in the course of their career that sees them open concerts for bands such as Marlene Kunz, Tricarico, Pan Del Diavolo, Truppi and many others.
Still fresh listening to the previous “PopArticolare” (2022 - Music Force), a record that hit the mark for freshness, simplicity and... Irony, the driving leitmotif. 
.  Music has multiple purposes in life, one of them being to make people sing and have fun, this the duo from Arsita (TE) has clearly in mind. Cute cover depicting the two instrumentalists in a psychiatric session, this hints at the lifestyle in which they roam, especially their approach to music. Inside the hardback edition of the album is the booklet with the lyrics finally written comprehensible in black on white, no small detail since generally the words are smothered by photographs or drawings of some sort, this also hints at the buyer's desire to make the lyrics comprehensible, all of which have one common thread, the commitment to be direct. The graphic design is by Alessio Anthony, while the photos are by Gaia Di Loreto.

Already witty and edgy the intro “Compra Mobili Trignani”, a list of ads over a Punk beat, the games are wide open and continue in the reggae of “Webinar”. The refrain says it all: “He taught courses so he wouldn't get ripped off by people selling courses. Contests and Webinars”.
Sunny again in a calypso wave is the next “Razza”, hard to resist the rhythm and yet another sagacious refrain. The voice is not the same of course, but if this song had been in Rino Gaetano's discography there would have been nothing wrong with it. In “Comete”, however, the approach is different, close to the world of Alex Britti. Again there is a change of style with “Cover”, a tribute to early songwriting over a base that would be perfect soundtrack for an evening at the merry-go-round. Upbeat and fun, it is also perfect for excellent success on a live evening.
Trignani Furniture has something for everyone, including “Tim”, a summary of the inefficiency of service in important cases, ever happen? The care in the search for a pandering motif is tangible in every song, and believe me when I tell you that it is by no means easy to find the right leitmotif, this is the duo's main characteristic, capable of making you sing along somehow anyway. “Mi Perdo In Giro” is another example of this, however, also very polished in the choruses. A guitar arpeggio introduces the album's busiest moment titled “Fragile”, a song that makes us sway along with the beat while listening. The background arrangements are more than guessed at, set in the world of psychedelia. One of the most committed tracks is titled “Pasolini”, where inside Carmine Valentino Mosesso recites the poem from “La Terza Geografia”.
The electronic beat goes up in the joyful “Acqua Alla Gola”, at least in the rhythm, because the lyrics are a bitter societal consideration. “Nin Mi Dice Core“ is loosely taken from Gino Bucci's ‘Questa E’”, close to the trend of Ivano Fossati's “La Mia Banda Suona Il Rock”. Another focus on a distinctly Italian problem is “Triage”, a bitter final consideration where the doctor in the hospital sentences “Giovanotto can be everything as he can be nothing”. Closing is “2 Senza Te” with guitar suggestions at the hands of Edoardo Di Massimo and Paolo Valente.
Trignani Furniture are clearly on the rise compositionally, denoting greater care in sounds as well as lyrics and melodies that are easy to memorize. I also really appreciated the number of musical genres covered, this makes the listening proceed smoothly without major emotional stops. A record to have to enjoy lightheartedness but beware, because there is reflection behind it, perhaps arising precisely from a psychoanalysis session. Brilliant.  MS
