La Giuria premia il disco "The Gathering Light" dei Karnataka come miglior disco straniero dell'anno.
L'estrema eleganza e la sofisticatezza compositiva di questo lavoro si coniuga magicamente con l'ariosa e solare musicalità strumentale che vocale. Nonostante l'approccio melodico e strutturale sia conforme ai canoni tradizionali del Neoprog, ciò che viene esaltato in questo lavoro è l'amore e il rispetto per le forme armoniche e sonore estremamente lineari e ordinate.
"The Gathering Light" è un lavoro moderno che mira ad una platea di ascolto decisamente ampia, non di nicchia, che evita, il più possibile, di rifarsi musicalmente e timbricamente ai classici del Progressive Rock degli anni d'oro. Non ci sono soluzioni particolarmente eclettiche o sperimentali ma l'abilità tecnica dei musicisti e l'ottima linea vocale femminile uniti ad uno spiccato senso melodico fanno di questo disco una prova concreta di ciò che vuol dire "piacere di ascolto".

The Jury awarded the Karnataka's record "The Gathering Light" as best foreign record of the year.
The extreme elegance and compositional sophistication of this work combines magically with airy and bright musicality instrumental and vocal. Although the melodic and structural approach is very similar to the traditional form of Neoprog, this work shows the love and respect for the harmonic and sound forms very linear and tidy.
"The Gathering Light" is a modern work directed to a wide listening audience, not a niche audience, that not copy, musically and acoustically, the classics of Progressive Rock of the golden years. There aren't particulary ecletic or sperimental solutions but the technical level of musicians and the excellent female vocal line are combined with a strong sense of melody that makes this record a good example of the meaning of "The Pleasure of Listening".
