Ho avuto la fortuna e il privilegio di seguire la carriera artistica di Aleco (Alessandro Carletti Orsini) sin dal primo album d’esordio. Il cantautore romano, attraverso la sua musica, mi ha sempre trasmesso gioia, passione e felicità, una positività generica per tutti gli album “L’Ultima Generazione Felice” (2019), “Il Sapore Della Luna” (2021), e “Gli Amori Alle Stazioni” (2022).
Oggi Aleco è ulteriormente maturato, sia come musicista/cantante che compositore dei testi, tanto da riversare nella sua ultima opera “Il Sistema Della Vita” numerosi concetti ed esperienze. Per la massima riuscita, l’artista presenta il lavoro in doppio formato libro e CD.
In questo percorso concettuale, il protagonista si sveglia da un sogno in cui prende in analisi la sua esistenza fra riflessioni introspettive e ricordi. L’amore e l’estate sono spesso citati nella musica di Aleco, qui in maniera particolarmente accentuata.
“Il Sistema Della Vita” è quindi un racconto intimistico, dove il legame libro e testi delle canzoni si fondono alla perfezione. Bello anche il packaging che supporta il tutto con le grafiche di C Graphics e le fotografie di Luigi Baronetti, un valore aggiunto per chi acquista musica. Le composizioni sono ad opera di Alessandro Carletti Orsini e Andrea Micarelli, con l’ausilio di special guest che rispondono ai nomi di Cecilia Grifone al violino e Nancy Fazzini alla voce.
Nove sono i brani che compongono il concept. “Un Milione Di Anni Fa” narra con delicatezza la situazione mentale del protagonista immobilizzato su un letto e lo sguardo fisso sul soffitto. Non riesce a muoversi, forse incastonato in un limbo fra la vita e l’aldilà. Qui ripercorre con il pensiero i propri ricordi del passato, fra i quali spicca un cartone animato particolarmente amato e importante per la sua formazione: Ryu.
Ma uno dei regali più belli che la vita gli ha donato è quello di staccare dopo la scuola per tre mesi e andare al mare, dove una lei lo aspetta assieme agli amici per passare giornate piacevoli. Ed ecco che “Guance Rosse”, attraverso un brano maturo e altamente orecchiabile, si fissa nella mente. Buono il duetto vocale maschile/femminile. Ricordi d’amore che ognuno di noi almeno una volta nella vita ha vissuto, altro motivo per cui il pezzo risulta altamente toccante.
Un piano apre “Cuore Di Seta”, qui Aleco alza l’asticella e diventa altamente intimistico, alternando il canto al parlato, dove il ritornello risulta punto funzionale del brano. Qui è la musica che salva il protagonista, quando la vita ti prende a schiaffi e hai voglia di gridare basta, è lei che ti prende. Gradevole l’assolo di chitarra e nuovamente il connubio vocale con la Fazzini. Una chicca sonora di cantautorato italiano ben strutturato e indovinato nelle melodie.
Nei ricordi che aleggiano nella mente del protagonista non c’è soltanto la musica, ma anche il cinema, soprattutto il film di Woody Allen “Midnight In Paris” e il personaggio Viola che rappresenta nel suo immaginario la Belle Epoque. Il pezzo s’intitola “Negozio Nostalgia”, dove nel suo martellante incedere narra proprio di questo, e lo fa con malizia e poesia.
I ricordi proseguono anche attraverso i film italiani, in special modo viene presa come riferimento l’immortale Anna Magnani. La sua essenza aleggia su una panchina dell’EUR, oppure di Trastevere, o di Campo De’ Fiori… In una donna romana conosciuta in piena estate; questo è l’immaginario scenico descritto in “Sogno Di Una Notte Di Quasi Estate”, brano dal ritmo Bossa Nova in cui Aleco torna ad essere quello solare che lo ha contraddistinto negli anni nel panorama musicale.
In “Maledetta Giovinezza” il pensiero volge a quando si è molto giovani, ingenui ma allo stesso tempo traini dell’esistenza degli adulti. Qui un'altra donna, Silvia, racconta al protagonista una storia che ha a che fare con una madre che cresce la propria figlia. Lo stile è un mix fra Tiromancino e Max Gazzè, piacevole oltre che scorrevole. Il ritornello presenta uno scenario differente, un’apertura che cambia sorprendentemente il ritmo. Qui riscontro l’Aleco maturo, raffinato e ricercato.
Con “Lola” si affronta l’argomento sulla diversificazione dei pensieri. Vengono in mente gli anni ’70 in cui l’individuo era al centro dell’interesse, dove la diversità di pensiero non solo ci ha reso unici, ma soprattutto ci ha arricchito culturalmente. La storia viene raccontata da un'altra amica del protagonista immobile nel letto in attesa di una probabile sentenza fra paradiso o purgatorio; lei è Lola. Il brano si dipana sopra uno swing accattivante ed un tratto narrato.
Intanto l’uomo disteso si sente vicino al punto di morte ed è allora che fa mente locale su tutti gli amici con cui ha condiviso la propria vita, le difficoltà e i sogni. No rimpianti dunque, ed è qui che si convince di abbandonarsi al proprio destino, sarà quel che sarà, perché ha capito “Il Sistema Della Vita”. Il pezzo è uno dei momenti più alti del concept, oltre che il più lungo con i quasi cinque minuti di durata. Torna anche il duetto vocale con la Fazzini.
Ma ecco il colpo di scena finale: il protagonista si risveglia all’improvviso da questo apparente  letargo. Il lupo perde il pelo ma non il vizio, così si veste, esce e si gode la sua ennesima estate. “Pinoli” ne è degna colonna sonora.
La crescita artistica che riscontro in “Il Sistema Della Vita” risiede anche nel fatto che Aleco si distacca da molti punti di riferimento del passato ben distinguibili nei precedenti lavori, creandosi uno stile prettamente personale. Uno sforzo produttivo e di concetto notevole, un disco pensato con la testa ma soprattutto con il cuore. Impossibile da ignorare! MS

I have had the fortune and privilege of following Aleco's (Alessandro Carletti Orsini) artistic career since his debut album. The Roman singer-songwriter, through his music, has always conveyed joy, passion, and happiness to me, a generic positivity that is present in all his albums “L’Ultima Genera Felice” (2019), “Il Sapore Della Luna” (2021), and “Gli Amori Alle Stazioni” (2022).
Today, Aleco has further matured, both as a musician/singer and composer of lyrics, to the point of pouring numerous concepts and experiences into his latest work, “Il Sistema Della Vita”. For maximum success, the artist presents the work in a dual format, book and CD.
In this conceptual journey, the protagonist wakes up from a dream where he analyzes his existence through introspective reflections and memories. Love and summer are often mentioned in Aleco's music, here in a particularly accentuated way.
“Il Sistema Della Vita” is thus an intimate story where the bond between the book and song lyrics perfectly merge. The packaging is also beautiful, supported by the graphics of C Graphics and the photographs of Luigi Baronetti, adding value for music buyers. The compositions are the work of Alessandro Carletti Orsini and Andrea Micarelli, with the help of special guests Cecilia Grifone on violin and Nancy Fazzini on vocals.
There are nine tracks that make up the concept. “Un Milione Di Anni Fa” delicately narrates the mental state of the protagonist, immobilized in bed with a fixed gaze on the ceiling. He can't move, perhaps stuck in a limbo between life and the afterlife. Here, he recollects his past memories, among which a particularly loved and important cartoon stands out: Ryu.
But one of the most beautiful gifts life has given him is the chance to take a break after school for three months and go to the sea, where a girl waits for him with friends to spend pleasant days. And that's where “Guance Rosse”, through a mature and highly catchy song, sticks in your mind. The male/female vocal duet is good. Memories of love that each of us has experienced at least once in life, another reason why the piece is highly touching.
A piano opens “Cuore Di Seta”, where Aleco raises the bar and becomes highly intimate, alternating singing and spoken word, where the refrain is a functional point of the song. Here, music is what saves the protagonist when life slaps you and you want to scream enough, it's music that takes you. The guitar solo is pleasant, and again the vocal combination with Fazzini. A sound gem of well-structured Italian singer-songwriting and melodies.
The memories that linger in the protagonist's mind are not just music but also cinema, especially Woody Allen's film “Midnight in Paris” and the character Viola, who represents the Belle Epoque in his imagination. The piece is titled “Negozio Nostalgia”, where in its hammering progression, it narrates precisely this, and does so with malice and poetry.
The memories continue through Italian films, especially referencing the immortal Anna Magnani. Her essence lingers on a bench in EUR, or Trastevere, or Campo de' Fiori... In a Roman woman known in the full summer; this is the scenic imaginary described in “Sogno Di Una Notte Di Quasi Estate”, a song with a Bossa Nova rhythm where Aleco returns to being the sunny one that has distinguished him over the years in the music scene.
In “Maledetta Giovinezza”, the thought turns to when one is very young, naive but at the same time a driving force of adult existence. Here, another woman, Silvia, tells the protagonist a story about a mother raising her daughter. The style is a mix between Tiromancino and Max Gazzè, pleasant and smooth. The refrain presents a different scenario, an opening that surprisingly changes the rhythm. Here, I find the mature, refined, and sophisticated Aleco.
With “Lola”, the topic of thought diversification is addressed. The 1970s come to mind, where the individual was at the center of interest, where diversity of thought not only made us unique but also enriched us culturally. The story is told by another friend of the protagonist, immobile in bed, waiting for a probable sentence between heaven or purgatory; she is Lola. The song unfolds over a catchy swing and a narrated trait.
Meanwhile, the lying man feels close to death and reflects on all the friends with whom he has shared his life, difficulties, and dreams. No regrets, and it's here that he convinces himself to abandon himself to his destiny, whatever will be, because he has understood “Il Sistema Della Vita”. The piece is one of the highest moments of the concept, also the longest with almost five minutes of duration. The vocal duet with Fazzini returns.
But here's the final twist: the protagonist suddenly wakes up from this apparent lethargy. The wolf loses its hair but not its vice, so he dresses, goes out, and enjoys his umpteenth summer. “Pinoli” is its worthy soundtrack.
The artistic growth I perceive in “Il Sistema Della Vita” also lies in the fact that Aleco distances himself from many reference points of the past, well distinguishable in previous works, creating a purely personal style. A remarkable productive and conceptual effort, a disc thought out with the head but above all with the heart. Impossible to ignore! MS
