All’estero, il nostro Progressive Rock è tenuto in grande considerazione, soprattutto grazie alle melodie spesso incastonate nella formula canzone, fra passaggi solari e tecnicismi mai fini a se stessi. Abbiamo nel nostro DNA il buon gusto, la storia e la cultura; tutto questo fa sì che l’arte ci risulti una musa amica, soprattutto spontanea.
I milanesi Accauno sono un'altra tessera dell’immenso puzzle Prog italico, artisti che amano la musica fatta con la testa e con il cuore, senza secondi fini.
Si formano nel 2010 per proporre brani originali in bilico fra Pop Rock, il cantautorato e il Progressive Rock. Amano cantare in italiano, e anche questo fa capire che non interessa loro strizzare l’occhio al mercato straniero; piuttosto, è importante essere se stessi per fare ciò che si ama.
Gli Accauno sono un trio formato da Mattia Paneroni (basso, cori), Giuseppe 'Beppe' Pianese (batteria, cori), e Andrea Tosini (chitarra, voce).
Rilasciano nel 2012 l’album “Virus”, nel 2014 “Quelu”, nel 2018 “Scatti Rapidi” e nel 2021 “Punto Di Fuga”, tutti album che mettono in evidenza l’amore per il Prog inglese degli anni ’70 miscelato con il Rock indipendente italiano degli anni Novanta.
Oggi è la volta di “Distacco”, un disco che (lo dico subito) si fa ascoltare con piacere e composto di otto nuovi brani, a partire da “Disperso”.
Gradevoli i testi, l’uso del voice phone, la Psichedelia di fondo e il giro di basso, per un brano facile da memorizzare e cantare. Spesso basta molto poco per attirare l’attenzione dell’ascoltatore, e l’esperienza degli Accauno insegna.
Con “Falena” subentra l’elettronica e l’effettistica, un movimento Rock quasi in stile Ozric Tentacles, sorprendente e vivace. Non manca il classico cambio umorale che approda la band nel porto veneziano delle Orme.
La title track punta sulla salvezza del genere umano attraverso la musica; qui le chitarre elettriche a tratti sottolineano con acidità i testi, e molto probabilmente una band straniera che accomuna i tre musicisti sono i King Crimson.
I sei minuti abbondanti di “La Madre” hanno una ritmica maggiormente ricercata, forse la canzone più Prog dell’album, grazie anche all’effettistica situata nella metà della durata. Un arpeggio di chitarra in stile “Another Brick In The Wall” inizia “Essere Voi”, coesa e calda nell’incedere, un esempio di come sono oggi gli Accauno. Il brano più lungo s’intitola “Il Labirinto”, grazie ai quasi nove minuti di durata. Qui la band tira fuori tutte le armi a sua disposizione, accompagnando l’ascoltatore in un limbo che divide la pacatezza dalla ricerca. Piccole schegge Jazz e buoni frangenti strumentali.
Gioviale “Arido”, un tuffo negli anni ’70 che non ti aspetti, per giungere poi alla conclusiva “Un Angelo”, molto vicina al cantautorato italiano.
La verità è che l’album è volato via in un batter d’occhio, sinonimo di eterogeneità mai ridondante su se stessa e questo ultimamente lo riscontro sempre più raramente, soprattutto se è un disco a cavallo fra Prog e formula canzone.

Abroad, Italian Progressive Rock is highly regarded, especially thanks to the melodies often embedded in the song formula, between sunny passages and technicalities that are never an end in themselves. We have good taste, history, and culture in our DNA; all this makes art a friendly muse, especially spontaneous.
The Milanese Accauno are another piece of the immense Italian Prog puzzle, artists who love music made with head and heart, without ulterior motives.
They formed in 2010 to propose original songs that balance Pop Rock, cantautorato, and Progressive Rock. They love singing in Italian, and this also shows that they're not interested in catering to the foreign market; rather, it's essential to be themselves to do what they love.
Accauno is a trio composed of Mattia Paneroni (bass, backing vocals), Giuseppe 'Beppe' Pianese (drums, backing vocals), and Andrea Tosini (guitar, vocals).
They released the album “Virus” in 2012, “Quelu” in 2014, “Scatti Rapidi” in 2018, and “Punto Di Fuga” in 2021, all albums that highlight their love for 1970s English Prog mixed with 1990s Italian independent Rock.
Today it's the turn of “Distacco”, an album that (I'll say it right away) is enjoyable to listen to and composed of eight new tracks, starting with “Disperso”.
Pleasant lyrics, use of voice phone, psychedelic undertones, and bass lines make for a track that's easy to remember and sing along to. Often, it takes very little to grab the listener's attention, and the Accauno's experience teaches us that.
With “Falena”, electronics and effects come into play, a Rock movement almost in the style of Ozric Tentacles, surprising and lively. The classic mood change that brings the band to the Venetian port of Orme is not missing.
The title track focuses on the salvation of the human genre through music; here, the electric guitars occasionally emphasize the lyrics with acidity, and a foreign band that probably unites the three musicians is King Crimson.
The six minutes of “La Madre” have a more researched rhythm, probably the most Prog song on the album, thanks also to the effects situated in the middle of the duration. A guitar arpeggio in the style of “Another Brick In The Wall” starts “Essere Voi”, cohesive and warm in its pace; an example of what Accauno is today. The longest track is titled “Il Labirinto”, thanks to its almost nine minutes of duration. Here, the band pulls out all the stops, accompanying the listener in a limbo that divides calmness from research. Small Jazz fragments and good instrumental moments.
Jovial “Arido”, a dive into the 1970s that you don't expect, to arrive at the conclusive “Un Angelo”, very close to Italian cantautorato.
The truth is that the album flew by in the blink of an eye, a synonym for heterogeneity that never becomes redundant; and this is something I rarely come across lately, especially if it's a record that straddles Prog and song formula.
