Connessioni, riflessioni sull’appartenenza, uno squarcio analitico della nostra società ci viene offerto dalla band Pale Blue Dot nel debutto “(h)eart(h)”. Il nome (pallido puntino azzurro) deriva da una fotografia della terra fotografata dalla Voyager 1 nel 1990 e dall’omonima definizione dell’astronomo Carl Sagan.
La band si forma come trio fra Bologna e Ferrara nel 2015 per poi trovare la definitiva stabilità nel 2018 con l’innesto di membri provenienti dalle band Zeder e Staré Mésto.
Composti da Tommaso Lampronti (voce, chitarre), Enrico Bongiovanni (chitarre), Cosimo Tanzarella (basso), e Francesco D’Astore (batteria), i Pale Blue Dot escono con il primo singolo “Destruction Of Resurrection” accompagnato da un video a cartone animato autoprodotto con l’ausilio di un software sperimentale dell’Intelligenza Artificiale. Accompagna l’uscita ufficiale anche un secondo singolo, “Green Fairy Tale” del 2023.
Ma è nel 2025 che “(h)eart(h)” vede consacrare l’ufficialità attraverso quest’album composto da sette canzoni dedite a un’eterea Psichedelia con forti influenze Shoegaze e New Wave.
Sin da “For The Beauty Of Miranda” (ispirata al film del 1975 “Picnic Ad Hanging Rock”) gli scenari sono già ben definiti, si possono apprezzare immediatamente le arie ampie e solari, con quell’incedere etereo dettato dalla voce sognante e dal profumo anni ’80 di Tommaso Lampronti. La New Wave è cosparsa di striature psichedeliche, solo le chitarre elettriche ci riportano ai giorni nostri e precisamente nel genere Shoegaze.
Con “Destruction Or Resurrection” si assiste a un grido disperato nei confronti delle sorti del nostro pianeta e di noi stessi, il singolo estratto dall’album è ficcante, di buona personalità, a testimonianza d’idee chiare rispetto la strada sonora da intraprendere. Il suono decisamente elettrico dona risalto alle tematiche pur sempre restando su un piano celestiale.
La title track parla sempre del cosmo, ma questa volta di quello interiore, una ricerca di una confort zone in cui rifugiarsi dal buio che ci circonda, e lo fa con un sound maggiormente positivo, più allegro rispetto quanto ascoltato sino ad ora. La Psichedelia è sempre di base, mentre i riff si susseguono giocosamente.
“Green Fairy Tale” trasporta la mente a Praga, in una favola ancor più psichedelica in cui le regole vengono infrante per aprire una nuova strada verso la lucidità con l’ausilio dell’assenzio, il protagonista denominato “fata verde” come viene suggerito dal titolo. Di sicuro è uno dei momenti più trascinanti dell’album.
Come lasciarsi andare su delle montagne russe è “Rollercoaster”, pezzo adrenalinico dalla breve durata di tre minuti in cui la band mette in evidenza l’intesa raggiunta fra i componenti. Per lasciarsi andare in atmosfere più leggiadre bisogna giungere a “Alone”, un inno a provare la solitudine per una sensazione di benessere fuori dal tempo.
L’album si conclude con lo Shoegaze di “Star Cloud”, brano più lungo dell’intero album grazie ai sei minuti abbondanti di musica robusta.
Serenità, ampiezza, voglia di vivere il Rock in tutte le sue sfaccettature, questo è quello che si ricava dall’ascolto di “(h)eart(h)”, un nuovo capitolo per la nostra musica. MS

Connections, reflections on belonging, an analytical glimpse into our society is offered by the band Pale Blue Dot in their debut "(h)eart(h)". The name (pale blue dot) comes from a photograph of Earth taken by Voyager 1 in 1990 and from the same definition by astronomer Carl Sagan.
The band was formed as a trio between Bologna and Ferrara in 2015, and then found stability in 2018 with the addition of members from the bands Zeder and Staré Mésto.
Composed of Tommaso Lampronti (vocals, guitars), Enrico Bongiovanni (guitars), Cosimo Tanzarella (bass), and Francesco D'Astore (drums), Pale Blue Dot releases their first single "Destruction Of Resurrection" accompanied by an animated video self-produced with the help of an experimental Artificial Intelligence software. A second single, "Green Fairy Tale", was also released in 2023 to accompany the official release.
But it's in 2025 that "(h)eart(h)" sees its official consecration through this album composed of seven songs dedicated to an ethereal Psychedelia with strong Shoegaze and New Wave influences.
From "For The Beauty Of Miranda" (inspired by the 1975 film "Picnic at Hanging Rock"), the scenarios are already well-defined, and one can immediately appreciate the wide and sunny arias, with that ethereal cadence dictated by Tommaso Lampronti's dreamy voice and 80s perfume. New Wave is sprinkled with psychedelic streaks, and only the electric guitars bring us back to the present day, precisely in the Shoegaze genre.
With "Destruction Or Resurrection", one witnesses a desperate cry towards the fate of our planet and ourselves, the single extracted from the album is poignant, with good personality, testifying to clear ideas about the sonic path to take. The decidedly electric sound highlights the themes while still remaining on a celestial plane.
The title track talks about the cosmos, but this time about the inner one, a search for a comfort zone to take refuge from the darkness that surrounds us, and it does so with a more positive sound, more cheerful than what we've heard so far. Psychedelia is always the base, while the riffs follow each other playfully.
"Green Fairy Tale" transports the mind to Prague, in a fairy tale even more psychedelic, where rules are broken to open a new path towards lucidity with the help of absinthe, the protagonist being called "green fairy" as suggested by the title. It's definitely one of the most captivating moments of the album.
Like letting go on a roller coaster is "Rollercoaster", a three-minute adrenaline piece where the band highlights the understanding reached between the components. To let oneself go into lighter atmospheres, one needs to reach "Alone", an anthem to experiencing solitude for a feeling of well-being outside of time.
The album concludes with the Shoegaze of "Star Cloud", the longest track on the entire album, thanks to its six minutes of robust music.
Serenity, breadth, desire to live Rock in all its facets, this is what one gets from listening to "(h)eart(h)", a new chapter for our music. MS.
