Il connubio musica e immagine è semplicemente perfetto, le emozioni si elevano alla potenza, specialmente se i suoni sono suggestivi. Non è importante il genere che si suona, spesso gli artisti stessi non vogliono legarsi ad un termine predefinito, preferiscono dire semplicemente “facciamo musica”.  Quest’arte sta vivendo un momento particolare, dove la marea di uscite soffocano quello che magari di buono si cela nel parterre. Così la tecnologia è un arma a doppio taglio, molto semplifica soprattutto a livello di ascolti, ma allo stesso tempo spersonalizza di molto il risultato proposto, oggi generalmente estremamente conformato. Per fortuna non tutti si lasciano travolgere dall’onda della globalizzazione.
Musica e immagine dicevo, un bell’esempio ci arriva proprio dal duo Oblomov, di origini russe (San Pietroburgo) ma oggi residente a Bologna. Ilja Ilic e Zachar si prospettano di mettere in musica i dipinti di Adriano Fida, vincitore dell'Oscar Art Expo 2015. Qui la capacità di adattare i suoni alle opere è sorprendentemente naturale. Il loro primo album s’intitola “Sound Of The Soul”, a seguire l’EP “Multiexit”. Molte le esibizioni live che avvengono con una scenografia alquanto particolare, i musicisti sono seduti in un divano nel salotto mentre cucinano la cena, suonano e mangiano. Alle spalle il Grundnick Retrosound, la rivisitazione televisiva del 1956 che trasmette sempre video e suoni sincronizzati con la musica, oltre che altre assurdità.
Il genere usato per l’intento è un mix fra elettronica e Post Dark, lo stesso per realizzare questo ep video “Standard Monstre”, un viaggio metafisico dove suono e realtà si fondono in un tutt’uno.
Per l’occasione gli Oblomov diventano quartetto, quindi Zachar Ttofimov (basso, chitarre, synth), Ilja Ilic (voce, synth), Andrej Stolz (chitarre) e Maxim Ilizarov (batteria).
“Standard Monstre” è dedicato proprio alla memoria di Adriano Fida, i registi del video sono Giovanni Piretti e Andrea Roversi che, con il montaggio di Simone Frabetti, disegnano la storia come un abito sulle capacità artistiche della guest star Sofia Cardarelli.
L’EP è suddiviso in cinque momenti, “Uh?”,  “La Grande Bouffe”, “Deep Water Reflections”, “Dog Biscuits” e “Relax In Pills”.
Estratti prossimi al genere Progressive derivano dall’incrocio della Psichedelia con le tastiere, ricerca strutturale a tratti complessa, si lega con le melodie comunque sempre attivamente presenti. Aleggiano gli anni ’80 della New Wave, tuttavia non è solo un genere a farsi largo in questa musica da vedere, come ho avuto modo di dire, l’artista non parte con l’intento d’inserirsi in un determinato logo, ma per creare e basta.
Un EP interessante che esula dalla banalità degli ascolti in cui troppo spesso oggi siamo abituati.

The combination of music and image is simply perfect, emotions rise to power, especially if the sounds are evocative. It is not important what genre you play, often the artists themselves do not want to bind themselves to a predefined term, they prefer to simply say "we make music."  This art is experiencing a peculiar moment, where the flood of releases stifle what is perhaps good in the parterre. Thus technology is a double-edged sword, much simplifying especially at the level of listening, but at the same time greatly depersonalizing the proposed result, now generally extremely conformed. Fortunately, not everyone is being swept away by the wave of globalization.
Music and image I was saying, a fine example comes to us from the very duo Oblomov, of Russian origin (St. Petersburg) but now living in Bologna. Ilja Ilic and Zachar are set to set to music the paintings of Adriano Fida, winner of the 2015 Oscar Art Expo. Here the ability to adapt sounds to the works is surprisingly natural. Their first album is titled "Sound Of The Soul," followed by the EP "Multiexit." Many live performances occur with a rather unusual set design, the musicians are sitting in a couch in the living room while cooking dinner, playing and eating. Behind them is Grundnick Retrosound, the 1956 TV revival that always broadcasts video and sound synchronized with the music, as well as other nonsense.
The genre used for the intent is a mix of electronic and Post Dark, the same to make this video ep "Standard Monstre," a metaphysical journey where sound and reality merge into one.
For the occasion Oblomov becomes a quartet, so Zachar Ttofimov (bass, guitars, synth), Ilja Ilic (vocals, synth), Andrej Stolz (guitars) and Maxim Ilizarov (drums).
"Standard Monstre" is dedicated precisely to the memory of Adriano Fida, the directors of the video are Giovanni Piretti and Andrea Roversi who, with editing by Simone Frabetti, design the story like a dress on the artistic abilities of guest star Sofia Cardarelli.
The EP is divided into five moments, "Uh?", "La Grande Bouffe", "Deep Water Reflections", "Dog Biscuits" and "Relax In Pills".
Extracts close to the Progressive genre derive from the intersection of Psychedelia with keyboards, structural research at times complex, binds with melodies however always actively present. The 1980s New Wave hovers, however, it is not just one genre that makes its way into this music to be seen, as I have had occasion to say, the artist does not set out with the intent to fit into a certain logo, but to just create.
An interesting EP that falls outside the banality of listening in which we are too often accustomed today.
