Si sa che la musica può essere adoperata per differenti necessità e che i testi non sempre devono necessariamente accompagnare un’opera. Tuttavia, se le argomentazioni ci sono, vanno abbinate alle dovute sonorità; perciò il connubio fra le due arti diventa fondamentale.
L’equilibrio è sottile: non tutti hanno le capacità giuste per esporre al meglio l’insieme, per questo servono esperienza e sensibilità.
Le caratteristiche di Gianni Venturi sono ormai note nell’ambito sia sperimentale sia progressivo, basta citare la band Altare Thotemico, oppure i progetti Mantra Informatico, Banda Venturi, Qohelet, Tazebao, Moloch e altri ancora, nei quali il poeta e narratore dei tempi si esprime con sagacia e crudezza.
È notoria la cadenza narrativa con cui approccia al canto, generalmente disperato e rabbioso, proprio per evidenziare la profondità delle analisi che vengono esposte. Ecco quindi la ricerca sia della parola sia della fonetica, entrambe fondamentali per trattare le vicissitudini dei nostri tempi, amore compreso. Venturi non si rassegna e sprigiona un pessimismo che sembra nato dalla consapevolezza dettata dall’esperienza di vita. Si sa che affrontare certe argomentazioni può condurre a un approccio politico, ma in realtà non è così, perché l’artista è un semplice osservatore e non di parte. Ascoltare i testi è come subire il suono delle unghie che graffiano una lavagna; per enfatizzare questo, Venturi si avvale della collaborazione di un altro noto artista dell’ambito sperimentale, Mirko Jymi. Tastierista e compositore, Jymi ha una cultura profonda della musica: inizia ascoltando jazz, rock, fusion, bossa, prog e ambient, e tutto questo è incastonato nel suo DNA.
Assieme compongono “Senza Rete”, un’opera filosofica in cui sono messe a nudo le incongruenze del significato attuale delle parole: la religione mente, la politica è malsana, la fisica è teorica e l’anarchia è utopia.
Undici sono le tracce che compongono l’album, registrate al São Paulo Studio, composte e arrangiate da Mirko Jymi. Con loro appaiono tre ospiti speciali: Carlos Sanchez (basso, stick), Fernando Dos Santos (batteria, percussioni) e Alberto Da Silva (tromba, sax).
Il sax apre “Il Tango Di Buenos Aires” con delicatezza, quasi una carezza rassicurante; la chitarra di matrice pinkfloydiana si fonde ad esso, ma è Venturi a innalzare l’intensità attraverso un crescendo vocale struggente e ficcante. Ogni tonalità ha il senso della parola espressa. L’ingresso della tromba dona all’insieme un velo di gradita raffinatezza.
“Prenditi Cura Di Te” è musica per pensare, fra raccomandazioni e fotografie ambientali dove il suono è altamente coinvolgente. Qui Venturi raggiunge la disperazione e l’introspezione.
“Fili Di Luce” alza leggermente il ritmo, i suoni sono più ampi, pur rilasciando sensazioni di una uggiosa serata d’autunno.
Tutto l’album scorre su un velo di oscurità che solo in brevi istanti lascia spazio a lamine di serenità. Ottima “Empatia”, pachidermica nell’incedere con ampi squarci di Psichedelia. Sognante “Dove Cantano Le Stelle”, toccante “Dimmi Che Mi Ami”, riflessiva “L’Amore Bambino”: tutte canzoni che godono di vita propria.
Il disco viaggia su questa lunghezza d’onda, ma tengo a sottolineare la profondità della title track, altro esempio di come la musica sposi alla perfezione un testo analitico dei tempi e disperato.
Il connubio Mirko Jymi–Gianni Venturi è devastante! “Senza Rete” è un’opera da gustare con parsimonia, proprio come un buon bicchiere di whisky, e mi dispiace per chi non ha tempo di assaporarla con calma. Questa è musica che fa pensare… pensare… pensare! MS

It is known that music can be used for different needs and that lyrics do not always have to accompany a work. However, if the arguments are there, they must be paired with the appropriate sounds; therefore the combination of the two arts becomes fundamental.
Balance is subtle: not everyone has the right abilities to best present the whole, which is why experience and sensitivity are required.
Gianni Venturi’s characteristics are now well known in both the experimental and progressive scenes; one need only mention the band Altare Thotemico, or the projects Mantra Informatico, Banda Venturi, Qohelet, Tazebao, Moloch and others, in which the poet and narrator of our times expresses himself with wit and rawness.
The narrative cadence with which he approaches singing is notorious, generally desperate and angry, precisely to highlight the depth of the analyses that are presented. Hence the search for both the word and phonetics, both essential to deal with the vicissitudes of our times, love included. Venturi does not resign himself and releases a pessimism that seems born from the awareness dictated by life experience. It is known that addressing certain arguments can lead to a political approach, but in reality it is not, because the artist is a simple observer and not partisan. Listening to the lyrics is like enduring the sound of nails scratching a blackboard; to emphasize this, Venturi enlists the collaboration of another well‑known artist in the experimental field, Mirko Jymi. Keyboardist and composer, Jymi has a deep musical culture: he started listening to jazz, rock, fusion, bossa, prog and ambient, and all of this is embedded in his DNA.
Together they compose “Senza Rete”, a philosophical work in which the inconsistencies of the current meaning of words are laid bare: religion lies, politics is unhealthy, physics is theoretical, and anarchy is utopia.
Eleven tracks make up the album, recorded at São Paulo Studio, composed and arranged by Mirko Jymi. With them appear three special guests: Carlos Sanchez (bass, stick), Fernando Dos Santos (drums, percussion) and Alberto Da Silva (trumpet, sax).
The sax opens “Il Tango di Buenos Aires” with delicacy, almost a reassuring caress; the Pink Floyd‑like guitar merges with it, but it is Venturi who raises the intensity through a wrenching, piercing vocal crescendo. Each tonality carries the meaning of the expressed word. The trumpet entry adds a veil of welcome refinement.
“Prenditi Cura di Te” is music to think, between recommendations and environmental photographs where the sound is highly engaging. Here Venturi reaches despair and introspection.
“Fili di Luce” raises the tempo slightly; the sounds are broader, while still evoking the feeling of a gloomy autumn evening.
The entire album flows on a veil of darkness that only briefly gives way to thin sheets of serenity. Excellent “Empatia”, pachydermic in its progression with wide swaths of psychedelia. Dreamy “Dove Cantano le Stelle”, touching “Dimmi Che Mi Ami”, reflective “L’Amore Bambino”: all songs that enjoy a life of their own.
The record travels on this wavelength, but I want to underline the depth of the title track, another example of how the music perfectly marries an analytical, desperate text of our times.
The pairing of Mirko Jymi and Gianni Venturi is devastating! “Senza Rete” is a work to be savored sparingly, just like a good glass of whisky, and I’m sorry for those who don’t have time to enjoy it slowly. This is music that makes you think… think… think! MS
