Considerazione non musicale: Dovè andata l'Italia?

DOV’E’ ANDATA L’ITALIA?

Ecco fatto.

Ciao Italia.

 Versione Inglese:

WHERE HAS ITALY GONE?

Geographically, we haven't moved. But what happened to the Italy of "Made in Italy" personality, of great minds, of art, of industrial production? Gone?

It all started with joining Europe—whether that’s a coincidence or not isn't for me to decide, but for the great minds. In this short post, I just want to focus on what I see. An outburst… let’s put it that way.

Today, for companies, we are nothing more than a number attached to a underpaid little contract. A screwdriver in a drawer, where the young person doesn't learn and the old person works in their place. I understand the difficulties companies face, but this modus operandi is universal, not local, and there is no one acting differently. Deeply rooted!

The state views people and families merely as milk cows. So many fake promises, so many words, and the more they speak and promise, the more the average Italian pays. Silently, of course.

Granted, this hasn't just started now, it's not a matter of political party flags (do they even exist anymore?), but it has been happening for a long time. Deeply rooted!

With the advent of AI and the global contamination brought by the media (impositions), art and culture have dried up these sectors, rendering them simply useless and mundane. The process began slowly in the 1980s, and then the rise of the internet accelerated the phenomenon. Deeply rooted!

There is no money for those who study and experiment in labs, there is no money for research and development, and money is being taken away from schools—not just now, but for decades. Deeply rooted!

An example of this detachment from the Italy that once was is the national football team, which has missed three World Cups in a row. I chose football as an example because it's one of the sports Italy pours the most money into. A lot of money and no World Cups… No dedication to the jersey here either. Deeply rooted!

Now I'll stop here, but do you know how hard it is to eradicate something like this? It's easier to shrug your shoulders (as long as dad's money is still there) and pretend that everything is fine—that's why we have vanished and didn't even notice. We are shadows.

Some will say that all of this isn't true or that it's too pessimistic; others will call it "populist." Well, I am 62 years old and I have lived my life to the best of my abilities. I saw what was better, I lived it, breathed it, fought for it… So think what you want and tell me whatever you like now, but I have the memory of a different Italy, and these aren't just empty words, but real-life facts.

Remedies? Plenty. But would you be willing to give up your phones, your TVs, to read, to protest, to stop settling for what they tell us and feed us? I have faith in young people—they aren't how many describe them—but these won't be my times anymore.

As Gaber used to sing: "I don't feel Italian, but fortunately or unfortunately, I am." There you have it.

Goodbye, Italy.
