Avrete notato anche voi che in ambito Rock e Pop, in Italia i gruppi , o come li chiamavano una volta “i complessi”, sono nel tempo quasi spariti. Non che i cantautori più impegnati abbiano subito sorte migliore, ma per fortuna nell’underground c’è sempre un filo di vento che denota la presenza di qualcuno che ha fatto di questa musica anche oggi un credo.
Molti ripercorrono le orme di uno stile magari già sentito, altri tentano di mettere del proprio analizzando sia il passato che il presente, il tutto filtrato attraverso la personalità evitando accuratamente l’AI.
I Mutazioni sono una band di Alternative Rock in continua mutazione che propone brani originali e come dicono loro, “influenzati dalle proprie influenze”. Esordiscono nel 2025 con l’album dal titolo omonimo, e a poca distanza di tempo rilasciano questo “Autopsia Anima”.
Il gruppo è formato da Alessandro Soncini (voce, testi), Emilio Pardo (chitarre), Carlo Mazzaccara (basso), Manuel Carbone (batteria, testi), e Filippo Terenzi (tastiere/synths, mix, mastering).
L'album si muove lungo un filo conduttore concettuale ben preciso, un percorso di decompressione e discesa verso l'ombra (Autopsia Anima, Peste Nera), che passa attraverso la tentazione e l'illusione (La Mela, Menzoniero), per poi cercare uno spiraglio di salvezza o di coscienza (Punti di Luce, Apnea) e chiudersi in uno stato di sospensione (Stazione di Passaggio).
Ed è proprio la title track ad aprire l’album con un sound vigoroso avvinghiato a quel Rock a cavallo fra ottimi riff di chitarra, e al movimento stesso degli anni ’80. Il testo affronta il tema della dissezione interiore, l'esame crudo e spietato dei propri fallimenti e delle proprie fragilità, trattando l'anima non come entità astratta, ma come materia da sezionare sul tavolo da gioco della vita.
Gradevole “La Mela” in cui il Rock sposa certe scelte care per esempio anche al nostro cantautore Nek. La mela rappresenta la tentazione primordiale, l'inganno luccicante della modernità. Il testo gioca con l'iconografia del peccato originale rivisitata in chiave contemporanea, il desiderio irrazionale di ciò che ci fa male e la consapevolezza della caduta.
Torna il Rock robusto con “Menzoniero”, la vera anima della band dove i testi mai banali s’incrociano con il piacere di vivere il Rock.
Il brano più strutturato dell’album s’intitola “Ordinaria Utopia” e si apre con una sezione introspettiva per poi svilupparsi in un crescendo dinamico con cambi di tempo e soli di chitarra/synth dal respiro nettamente Progressive. Il tema centrale è l'illusione della quotidianità. L'"utopia ordinaria" è il sogno di una vita perfetta o pacifica che si scontra regolarmente con la routine, le ipocrisie e le costrizioni della società moderna. “Peste Nera” è invece il momento più duro e aggressivo dell'album. Riff pesanti, ritmiche d'impatto e un'atmosfera opprimente come facevano i Litfiba negli anni ’80.
La svolta emotiva e luminosa del disco giunge attraverso “Punti Di Luce”, ed è la traccia della speranza e della consapevolezza.
“Apnea” si apre con un bel riff tagliente e riporta il tiro in ambito Rock al confine dell’Hard, mentre la chiusura spetta a “Stazione Di Passaggio”, movimento riflessivo e molto orecchiabile. Non c'è una vera conclusione o una meta finale, ma solo un luogo di transito in cui fare i conti con ciò che si è lasciato alle spalle e prepararsi al prossimo capitolo.
“Autopsia Anima” è un capitolo sincero di amore nei confronti di un genere che stenta a risalire a causa di una massiva proposta di brani odierni che lasciano il Rock in disparte a favore dell’AI e di altre tendenze che prediligono la leggerezza del “non pensare”. MS

You may have noticed as well that in the Rock and Pop sphere in Italy, bands—or "i complessi", as they used to be called—have almost disappeared over time. Not that the more politically and socially engaged singer-songwriters have met a better fate, but fortunately in the underground there is always a slight breeze indicating the presence of someone who has made this music a creed even today.
Many retrace the steps of a style that may have already been heard, while others try to contribute something of their own by analyzing both the past and the present, filtering it all through personality while carefully avoiding AI.
Mutazioni are an ever-evolving Alternative Rock band offering original tracks that are, as they put it, "influenced by their own influences." They debuted in 2025 with their self-titled album, and shortly thereafter they release this "Autopsia Anima".
The group consists of Alessandro Soncini (vocals, lyrics), Emilio Pardo (guitars), Carlo Mazzaccara (bass), Manuel Carbone (drums, lyrics), and Filippo Terenzi (keyboards/synths, mixing, mastering).
The album moves along a very specific conceptual thread, a path of decompression and descent into the shadows (Autopsia Anima, Peste Nera) that passes through temptation and illusion (La Mela, Menzoniero), before searching for a glimmer of salvation or awareness (Punti di Luce, Apnea) and closing in a state of suspension (Stazione di Passaggio).
And it is precisely the title track that opens the album with a vigorous sound clinging to that style of Rock bridging great guitar riffs and the movement of the '80s itself. The lyrics address the theme of inner dissection, the raw and ruthless examination of one's failures and vulnerabilities, treating the soul not as an abstract entity, but as matter to be dissected on the gaming table of life.
"La Mela" is pleasant, where Rock marries certain choices dear, for instance, to our own singer-songwriter Nek as well. The apple represents primordial temptation, the glittering deception of modernity. The lyrics play with the iconography of original sin revisited in a contemporary key, the irrational desire for what hurts us, and the awareness of the fall.
Robust Rock returns with "Menzoniero", the true soul of the band where lyrics that are never cliché intersect with the pleasure of living Rock.
The most structured track on the album is titled "Ordinaria Utopia", opening with an introspective section before developing into a dynamic crescendo featuring time signature changes and guitar/synth solos with a distinctly Progressive feel. The central theme is the illusion of everyday life. The "ordinary utopia" is the dream of a perfect or peaceful life that regularly clashes with routine, hypocrisies, and the constraints of modern society. "Peste Nera", on the other hand, is the heaviest and most aggressive moment of the album. Heavy riffs, impactful rhythms, and an oppressive atmosphere much like Litfiba used to do in the '80s.
The emotional and luminous turning point of the record arrives through "Punti Di Luce", representing the track of hope and awareness.
"Apnea" opens with a fine, sharp riff and brings the drive back into Rock territory bordering on Hard Rock, while the closing falls to "Stazione Di Passaggio", a reflective and very catchy movement. There is no true conclusion or final destination, but only a place of transit in which to reckon with what has been left behind and prepare for the next chapter.
"Autopsia Anima" is a sincere chapter of love toward a genre struggling to resurface due to a massive influx of contemporary songs that push Rock aside in favor of AI and other trends prioritizing the lightness of "not thinking." MS
