Nati nella scena Indie underground di Capri, i PacificSquiers hanno costruito la propria identità attorno all'uso creativo delle chitarre elettriche unite a sintesi analogica e drum machine soffuse.
Il progetto nasce con l'intento di fondere le atmosfere nostalgiche della West Coast con la malinconia e le tessiture sonore tipiche della scena Shoegaze britannica degli anni '90 ispirata a band come Slowdive e Cocteau Twins. Con il passare del tempo, la band ha affinato un approccio produttivo "do-it-yourself" (DIY), facendo della produzione casalinga ma dettagliata un punto di forza estetico.
Il nome fa un chiaro riferimento alle celebri chitarre Squier, marchio economico ma storico della Fender, uno strumento iconico per l'intera scena Indie, Shoegaze e Alternative Rock fin dagli anni '80 e '90 per l'accessibilità e l'attitudine "garage". L'aggettivo “Pacific” serve a bilanciare la componente chitarristica con un'estetica visiva e sonora legata all'oceano, alle maree, alla dilatazione e alle atmosfere sognanti tipiche del Dream Pop.
In questo breve EP su Bandcamp intitolato “Dreaming Unyending”, ci sono tre brani suonati da Luca Esposito (chitarra, tastiere, produzione, composizione), Anghatengh (voce, arrangiamenti, scrittura), Michele Nastro (basso) e Mariano Celentano (batteria).
Presto l’intero album sarà edito.
“Near The Sea” dura un minuto e mezzo ed è suonato soprattutto con il piano. Molto lento e nostalgico, introduce l’ascoltatore nello stato d’animo più appropriato per l’ascolto.
Arpeggi di chitarra su un tappeto di tastiere introducono la voce di Anghatengh in “Dear Stranger”, singolo che sarà dell’album. Il pezzo sale d’intensità sino a graffiare con la voce gridata ma pur sempre drammatica e perfettamente incastonata nel contesto.
“Timelapse Of Us” invece alza l’intensità corale ed entra nel mondo del Shoegaze, dimostrando tutte le capacità balistiche e compositive della band.
Con “Dreaming Unyending”, i PacificSquiers dimostrano una maturità espressiva non comune nel panorama indipendente, bilanciando sapientemente le asperità Shoegaze con la delicatezza del Dream Pop. Nonostante le dimensioni contenute della release, il gruppo riesce a costruire un microcosmo coerente, aereo e viscerale. Un tassello discografico che conferma la bontà della loro visione artistica e lascia la curiosità di scoprire dove li porterà l’intero album. In attesa… MS.

Born in the underground Indie scene of Capri, PacificSquiers have built their identity around the creative use of electric guitars combined with analog synthesis and muted drum machines.
The project was born with the intent to fuse nostalgic West Coast vibes with the melancholy and sonic textures typical of the '90s British Shoegaze scene, inspired by bands like Slowdive and Cocteau Twins. Over time, the band has refined a "do-it-yourself" (DIY) production approach, turning home-based yet detailed production into an aesthetic strength.
The name makes a clear reference to the famous Squier guitars—Fender's budget-friendly yet historic brand—an iconic instrument for the entire Indie, Shoegaze, and Alternative Rock scene since the '80s and '90s due to its accessibility and "garage" attitude. The adjective “Pacific” serves to balance the guitar-driven side with a visual and sonic aesthetic tied to the ocean, tides, spatial expansion, and the dreamy atmospheres typical of Dream Pop.
In this short EP on Bandcamp titled “Dreaming Unyending”, there are three tracks played by Luca Esposito (guitar, keyboards, production, composition), Anghatengh (vocals, arrangements, songwriting), Michele Nastro (bass), and Mariano Celentano (drums).

“Near The Sea” lasts a minute and a half and is played mostly on the piano. Very slow and nostalgic, it introduces the listener to the most appropriate mood for listening.
Guitar arpeggios over a bed of keyboards introduce Anghatengh's voice in “Dear Stranger”, a single that will feature on the upcoming album. The track builds in intensity until it scrapes through with raw, screamed yet dramatic vocals that are perfectly embedded in the context.
“Timelapse Of Us”, on the other hand, raises the choral intensity and enters the world of Shoegaze, showcasing all of the band's technical and songwriting prowess.
With “Dreaming Unyending”, PacificSquiers demonstrate an expressive maturity that is uncommon in the independent scene, skillfully balancing Shoegaze rough edges with Dream Pop delicacy. Despite the compact size of the release, the group manages to build a coherent, airy, and visceral microcosm. A recording piece that confirms the strength of their artistic vision and leaves one curious to discover where the full album will take them. Waiting… MS.
