Dopo il successo di “Dark Mirrors” (2025) e “Metamors” (2025), tornano immediatamente i Primaluce, formazione capitanata dal polistrumentista Stefano Primaluce, a testimonianza di un momento di grande ispirazione creativa.
Attraverso dinamiche mutevoli, “Way Of Perfection” si sviluppa come un concept album che esplora la tensione tra disciplina e istinto, controllo e liberazione, precisione ed emozione. Il lavoro affronta il superamento dei propri limiti e l’eterna lotta tra luce e ombra. La line-up che ha inciso il disco vede Stefano Primaluce (chitarre ritmiche, tastiere, cori, programmazione) affiancato da Andrea Rocchi (chitarra solista e acustica), Marco Adami (basso), Michele Avella (batteria) e Falco alla voce.
Come il genere impone, le dodici tracce variano da mid-tempo diretti a composizioni articolate; non stupisce, dunque, riscontrare sonorità care a icone come Dream Theater e Fates Warning. Nonostante l’uso di tempi dispari e la complessità tecnica, il gruppo non rinuncia mai alla "forma canzone" e a ritornelli piuttosto aperti. In questo contesto, l'uso delle tastiere risulta fondamentale per tessere tappeti sonori che conferiscono profondità ai riff di chitarra più serrati.
Gli oltre sette minuti di “The Wind Remains” mettono subito in mostra l’intera perizia tecnica a disposizione del quintetto, grazie a un sound pulito e ben prodotto. La prova vocale di Falco appare ispirata, chiara e ben modulata a seconda della circostanza, mentre l'inciso risulta decisamente accattivante.
Mitragliate di batteria introducono “Back Into The Blue”, che evolve poi verso scenari più solari: il titolo suggerisce un ritorno a una dimensione introspettiva, quasi malinconica ma rigenerante.
Coerentemente con il proprio nome, “The Turning Of The Circle” (giro del cerchio) non rappresenta solo una figura geometrica, ma una potente metafora sulla vita, il tempo e l'esperienza umana. Il brano funge da vero viaggio ciclico, sia nella struttura musicale che nel concetto filosofico, esplorando l'idea che nulla finisca davvero, ma si trasformi: ogni fine è il seme di un nuovo inizio.
L’importanza data dalla band alle melodie corali emerge chiaramente anche in “Countdown At Dawn”. Altra vetrina di notevoli capacità tecniche è “Running Out Of Yesterday”, mentre “Heart Of The Moment” attinge dalla scena americana, sfiorando territori quasi AOR. Per incontrare un episodio più marcatamente Prog (grazie all’uso sapiente di piano e tastiere), bisogna attendere la ballata “When The Light Returns”. Il testo affronta il tema della resilienza: se “Back Into The Blue” rappresentava l'immersione e “The Turning Of The Circle” la consapevolezza del ciclo, questo brano incarna il momento della rinascita. La "luce" citata non è solo l'alba, ma la comprensione che giunge dopo un periodo di sofferenza.
L’album prosegue fedele allo stile del progetto, fatta eccezione per “Echoes Of Tomorrow”, traccia più ricercata che narra la responsabilità del presente: il futuro non è un'entità astratta, ma il risultato delle azioni che compiamo oggi. Una menzione a parte merita la conclusiva “Where The Water Meets The Stone”, dove la voce e i cambi d'atmosfera raggiungono livelli eccellenti.
Con questo lavoro, i Primaluce regalano un piccolo gioiello, candidandosi tra le realtà più significative della nostra scena. Un disco che metterà d’accordo gli amanti di queste sonorità, offrendo al contempo un'ottima occasione ai neofiti per avvicinarsi a un genere capace di stupire.

Following the success of “Dark Mirrors” (2025) and “Metamors” (2025), Primaluce makes an immediate return. Led by multi-instrumentalist Stefano Primaluce, the band proves to be in a moment of great creative inspiration.
Through shifting dynamics, “Way Of Perfection” unfolds as a concept album exploring the tension between discipline and instinct, control and liberation, precision and emotion. The work tackles the overcoming of one's limits and the eternal struggle between light and shadow. The line-up featured on the record includes Stefano Primaluce (rhythm guitars, keyboards, backing vocals, programming), joined by Andrea Rocchi (lead and acoustic guitars), Marco Adami (bass), Michele Avella (drums), and Falco on vocals.
As the genre demands, the twelve tracks range from straightforward mid-tempos to intricate compositions; it is no surprise, then, to find echoes of icons such as Dream Theater and Fates Warning. Despite the use of odd time signatures and technical complexity, the group never abandons the "song form" or relatively open choruses. In this context, the keyboards are essential in weaving sonic textures that add depth to the tighter guitar riffs.
The seven-plus minutes of “The Wind Remains” immediately showcase the quintet’s full technical prowess, supported by a clean and well-produced sound. Falco’s vocal performance is inspired, clear, and well-modulated to suit the mood, while the hook is decidedly catchy. Drum volleys introduce “Back Into The Blue,” which then evolves into brighter soundscapes: the title suggests a return to an introspective dimension, almost melancholic yet regenerating.
Consistent with its name, “The Turning Of The Circle” represents more than just a geometric shape; it is a powerful metaphor for life, time, and the human experience. The song serves as a true cyclic journey, both in its musical structure and philosophical concept, exploring the idea that nothing truly ends, but rather transforms: every end is the seed of a new beginning.
The band’s emphasis on choral melodies clearly emerges in “Countdown At Dawn.” Another showcase of remarkable technical skill is “Running Out Of Yesterday,” while “Heart Of The Moment” draws from the American scene, almost touching upon AOR territory. For a more markedly Progressive moment (thanks to the skillful use of piano and keyboards), one must wait for the ballad “When The Light Returns.” The lyrics deal with the theme of resilience: if “Back Into The Blue” represented immersion and “The Turning Of The Circle” the awareness of the cycle, this track embodies the moment of rebirth. The "light" mentioned is not merely the dawn, but the clarity that arrives after a period of suffering.
The album continues faithful to the project's core style, with the exception of “Echoes Of Tomorrow,” a more sophisticated track narrating the responsibility of the present: the future is not an abstract entity, but the result of the actions we take today. A special mention goes to the closing track “Where The Water Meets The Stone,” where the vocals and atmospheric shifts reach excellent levels.
With this work, Primaluce delivers a small gem, establishing themselves among the most significant acts of our scene. It is a record that will satisfy fans of these sounds while offering a great opportunity for newcomers to discover a genre that still knows how to surprise. MS
