Mi sono posto molto spesso la domanda: ma la musica sceglie noi o noi scegliamo la musica?
In qualità di individui a sé stanti, dove ognuno di noi cresce con un proprio carattere, esperienze e stili di vita differenti, nella nostra unicità probabilmente vibriamo ognuno in maniera differente. Questi fattori fanno sì che verosimilmente siamo noi singoli che scegliamo la musica, quella che ci fa entrare in sintonia con l’universo interiore ed esteriore. In parole povere, amiamo quella che più ci rappresenta, e nell’universo di suoni ne esistono infiniti sui quali scegliere, persino quello del Big Bang. Musica e anima, un concetto approfondito in molteplici studi, i quali avvicinano questa musa alla spiritualità. Il Buddismo è quello che tratta con maggiore interesse il rapporto uomo/musica. Molti artisti si vedono coinvolti in questo universo, alcuni addirittura in maniera sinestetica.
Non che ciò che ho espresso sia una verità inopinabile, intendiamoci, tuttavia mi sono fatto questa idea sul rapporto uomo e musica. Anche l’amore gioca un ruolo fondamentale, soprattutto quello inteso come risveglio interiore.
Questo e molto altro scaturisce nel lavoro del duo Tantric Love Charmers dal titolo omonimo, duo formato da Stefano Diamanti (voce e cori) e Moreno Viglione (chitarre, basso, mandolino, violino, flauto, percussioni, tastiere e cori).
Diamanti lo si può trovare nel progetto Amanti Di Nefasto, band di Progressive Rock, mentre Viglione è noto per aver partecipato a numerose collaborazioni con artisti del calibro di Patty Pravo, Fabrizio Moro e Francesco De Gregori.
I due si conoscono da molto tempo e decidono di intraprendere assieme un percorso artistico che inizia dalla passione per la musica anni ’70 e specificatamente da quella di band come Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath.
La volontà di comporre musica acustica risiede nell’impegno di esporre un suono più vero, distante da quello freddo moderno, soprattutto dalla tecnologia IA, con uno sguardo sì al passato ma altrettanto a una visione moderna. Il legno e lo scorrere delle dita sulle corde della chitarra hanno un fascino tutto personale, adatto a esprimere sia sensazioni che argomenti importanti come quelli intrapresi.
Così descrivono il concept album: “Un viaggio cosmico ed emotivo alla ricerca di un amore che trascende la forma, la morte, persino la linearità del tempo”.
Anche la copertina dell’album richiama iconografie tantriche e buddhiste, mentre il nome descrive l’anima in ricerca di un amore senza tempo.
Otto le canzoni che vengono anticipate nel web dal singolo “Thru The Cracks Of Time”, un percorso mistico in cui il protagonista della storia è in fuga dal presente alla ricerca cosmica di una reincarnazione futura; l’obbiettivo è quello di ritrovare il suo amore passato per una donna. Il suono è quindi psichedelico, bene arrangiato, cadenzato come sapevano fare i primi Jethro Tull alla fine degli anni ’60 nelle loro canzoni Blues.
L’album però inizia con “Butterfly Bolero”, dove si possono intuire le arie ispiratrici dei Pink Floyd primo periodo. Diamanti ne è ottimo interprete di melodie eteree. Maggiormente Folk “Lady Of The Rainbows”, pur non disdegnando spennellate di Psichedelia. Piacevole il Country di “Just A Gamble”, con aggiunta del battito di mani e coralità. “In The Next Life” vede la partecipazione alla voce di Gianna Chillà; qui le arie mutano verso un Rock acustico intimistico, caldo e rassicurante.
Molto bello il lavoro alla chitarra acustica di Viglione in “Palabra Majica”, piccola gemma sonora senza tempo con il piede su due staffe, quelle del passato e del presente.
“A Simple Song” incontra lo stile acustico dei Beatles, uno dei frangenti migliori dell’album assieme alla conclusiva “The Music Is Over”.
“Tantric Love Charmers” è un disco che mi ha fatto stare bene, in pace... Per questo sono sicuro che girerà altre volte nel mio lettore perché, soprattutto oggi, c’è bisogno di serenità, amore e buone vibrazioni. MS

I’ve often asked myself: does music choose us, or do we choose music?
As individuals, each of us grows with our own character, experiences, and lifestyles; in our uniqueness, we probably vibrate differently. These factors make it likely that we, as individuals, choose the music that puts us in tune with our inner and outer universe. In simple terms, we love the music that represents us most, and in the universe of sounds, there are infinite choices, even the sound of the Big Bang. Music and soul, a concept explored in multiple studies, which bring this muse closer to spirituality. Buddhism is the one that deals most with the relationship between man and music. Many artists are involved in this universe, some even in a synesthetic way.
Not that what I’ve expressed is an unquestionable truth, mind you, but this is the idea I’ve formed about the relationship between man and music. Love also plays a fundamental role, especially the one intended as an inner awakening.
This and much more emerges from the work of the duo Tantric Love Charmers, with their self-titled album, a duo composed of Stefano Diamanti (vocals and backing vocals) and Moreno Viglione (guitars, bass, mandolin, violin, flute, percussion, keyboards, and backing vocals).
Diamanti can be found in the project Amanti Di Nefasto, a progressive rock band, while Viglione is known for his collaborations with artists like Patty Pravo, Fabrizio Moro, and Francesco De Gregori.
The two have known each other for a long time and have decided to embark on an artistic journey together, starting from their passion for 1970s music, specifically bands like Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, and Black Sabbath.
The desire to compose acoustic music lies in the commitment to expose a truer sound, distant from the cold modern sound, especially from AI technology, with a look to the past but also to a modern vision. The wood and the sliding of fingers on guitar strings have a personal charm, suitable for expressing both sensations and important themes like the ones undertaken.
This is how they describe the concept album: “A cosmic and emotional journey in search of a love that transcends form, death, even the linearity of time”.
The album cover also recalls tantric and Buddhist iconographies, while the name describes the soul in search of a timeless love.
Eight songs are anticipated on the web by the single “Thru The Cracks Of Time”, a mystical journey where the protagonist is fleeing from the present in search of a cosmic future reincarnation; the goal is to find his past love for a woman. The sound is therefore psychedelic, well-arranged, rhythmic as the early Jethro Tull knew how to do in their blues songs at the end of the 1960s.
However, the album begins with “Butterfly Bolero”, where you can guess the inspiring airs of early Pink Floyd. Diamanti is an excellent interpreter of ethereal melodies. More folk is “Lady Of The Rainbows”, although it doesn’t shun psychedelic touches. Pleasant is the country of “Just A Gamble”, with the addition of handclaps and choruses. “In The Next Life” features Gianna Chillà on vocals; here, the airs shift towards an intimate, warm, and reassuring acoustic rock.
Very beautiful is Viglione’s work on acoustic guitar in “Palabra Majica”, a small timeless sonic gem with one foot in the past and one in the present.
“A Simple Song” meets the acoustic style of the Beatles, one of the best moments of the album along with the concluding “The Music Is Over”.
“Tantric Love Charmers” is an album that made me feel good, at peace... This is why I’m sure it will play again in my player because, especially today, there’s a need for serenity, love, and good vibes. MS
