Leggere e ascoltare, quanto è mancato! Un balzo indietro nel tempo con un supporto vinilico in mano e tanto di fumetto allegato di sedici pagine, con testi e quant’altro, una vera goduria. Sembra di tornare negli anni ’70, seduto avanti ad un buon stereo, un’incisione fatta a regola d’arte e un concept da seguire per una suite dove il viaggio verso Giove tiene alta la tensione.
Il trio trentino Supercanifradiciadespiaredosi ritorna così dopo ben cinque anni dall’ottimo “Geni Compresi” (Lizard Records – 2017), con un innesto nuovo nella line up, Nestor Fasteedio al secondo basso. Avete letto bene, trattasi di formazione decisamente anomala con due bassi e una batteria, l’altro basso è suonato da Brodolfo Sgangan (Boris Saracco) mentre dietro alle pelli siede Randy Molesto. La musica non è di certo convenzionale, rispecchia il gusto per la satira che si spalma fra le note e il cantato, tuttavia essendo una suite di dodici minuti suddivisa in otto parti nel lato A e una performance live nel lato B, porta a inserirla nel contesto sperimentale grazie anche ai riferimenti nei confronti di King Crimson, Magma, Rush e Yes.
“Aggiovaggio” è quindi una mini opera Rock a tutti gli effetti, formata da riferimenti come già detto verso il passato ma con uno sguardo dritto al futuro.
Il viaggio cosmico non può partire che con il “Decollo”. La navicella si chiama Bautilus ed è costruita dalla NASO (sì, avete letto bene, perchè è fatta a forma di naso). I bassi pulsano come propulsori e sputano i nostri tre eroi fuori dell’atmosfera, dove ad attenderli c’è la quiete. Musica senza chitarre e tastiere, eppure non si patisce la mancanza, perché i musicisti affrontano le melodie con ricercatezza ma anche nuove soluzioni supportate dalla graffiante voce di Brodolfo. I cambi di ritmo sono ovviamente annessi al viaggio, essi descrivono le varie fasi della storia. La velocità del Bautilus si stabilizza, tutto sembra procedere secondo i piani mirando verso Giove. Un Blues accompagna il movimento, ma improvvisamente un ritmo serrato di batteria fa da colonna sonora a ciò che accade, una navicella aliena colpisce il trio con un vortice magnetico che fonde le tre menti dei passeggeri cancellandogli i ricordi, l’attimo si chiama “Attacco Alieno”. Storditi in una sorte di lobotomia cerebrale, si spingono verso un “Buco Nero” ma fortunatamente ne escono illesi. La rotta però è cambiata, sono ora diretti verso l’enorme satellite “Ganimede” mentre la musica richiama materiale King Crimson. Durante il percorso fuori il buco nero avviene imminente l’incontro con “Nautilo”, un enorme essere portatore di vita sulla terra. Esso inocula nelle menti dei tre passeggeri il seme del ricordo, così la missione di scendere sul pianeta gassoso è ripristinata. Con un “Aggiovaggio” perfetto, il trio apre lo sportellone del Bautilus apportando in questo mondo ossigeno che mischiandosi all’idrogeno esistente nell’atmosfera come un liquido seminale, dona la vita all’enorme pianeta facendo nascere anche la fauna. La musica diviene gioiosa mentre i testi dell’atto conclusivo “Vita”, composta da primitivi canti sciamani rifatti in verso, decantano: “Eccoci, siamo il loro Dio, ma chi è il Dio del Nautilo? Di chi è Dio Giove?”. Probabilmente è l’inizio di una nuova storia, di certo non la fine.
“Ognuno è il Dio di qualcun altro”.
Tante idee, in “Aggiovaggio”, buona tecnica, suoni, armonie, energia, psichedelia, un trip da affrontare con il libretto in mano per gustarla a pieno nella sua interezza. Vista la formazione strumentale è ovvio che il ritmo faccia da padrone, e quindi resterà anche difficile rimanere fermi durante l’ascolto. I Supercanifradiciadespiaredosi sono davvero coinvolgenti!

Finalmente qualcuno che esalta l’artwork, perché negli ultimi decenni la musica liquida ha fatto perdere questo rapporto fisico fra musica e supporto, probabilmente qualche neofita si innamorerà oggi di questo connubio, mentre i più attempati come me non possono che godere di questo ritorno.
Dell’album che viaggia alla velocità di un 45 giri per una migliore qualità sonora, sono state stampate 300 copie, cosa aspettate ad acquistarne una? Almeno per curiosità o per ricordare i bei tempi che furono. MS

Reading and listening, how much it has been missed! A leap back in time with a vinyl stand in hand and lots of attached sixteen-page comic book, with lyrics and whatnot, a real treat. It feels like going back to the 1970s, sitting in front of a good stereo, a professionally made recording and a concept to follow for a suite where the journey to Jupiter keeps the tension high.The Trentino trio Supercanifradiciadespiaredosi thus returns after a good five years since the excellent "Geni Compresi" (Lizard Records - 2017), with a new graft in the line up, Nestor Fasteedio on second bass. You read that right, this is definitely an anomalous lineup with two basses and one drum set, the other bass is played by Brodolfo Sgangan (Boris Saracco) while behind the skins sits Randy Molesto. The music is certainly unconventional, reflecting the taste for satire that is smeared between the notes and the singing, however being a twelve-minute suite divided into eight parts on side A and a live performance on side B, leads one to place it in the experimental context thanks also to the references towards King Crimson, Magma, Rush and Yes. "Aggiovaggio" is thus a mini Rock opera in its own right, formed by references as already mentioned toward the past but with a straight look to the future.The cosmic journey can only start with "Takeoff." The spacecraft is called Bautilus and is built by NASO (yes, you read that right, because it is made in the shape of a nose). The bass pulses like thrusters and spits our three heroes out of the atmosphere, where quiet awaits them. Music without guitars and keyboards, yet one does not suffer the lack, as the musicians tackle the melodies with sophistication but also new solutions supported by Brodolfo's scratchy voice. Changes of rhythm are obviously attached to the journey; they describe the various stages of the story. The speed of Bautilus stabilizes, everything seems to proceed according to plan aiming toward Jupiter. A Blues accompanies the movement, but suddenly a tight drum beat acts as a soundtrack to what is happening, an alien spacecraft hits the trio with a magnetic vortex that merges the three minds of the passengers erasing their memories, the moment is called "Alien Attack." Stunned in a kind of cerebral lobotomy, they drive into a "Black Hole" but fortunately emerge unharmed. The course, however, has changed; they are now headed toward the huge satellite "Ganymede" while the music recalls King Crimson material. On the way out of the black hole an encounter with "Nautilo," a huge life-bearing being on earth, occurs imminently. It inoculates in the minds of the three passengers the seed of remembrance, so the mission to descend to the gaseous planet is restored. With a perfect "Aggiovaggio," the trio opens the hatch of the Bautilus bringing oxygen into this world, which, mixing with the hydrogen existing in the atmosphere as a seminal liquid, gives life to the huge planet while also giving birth to fauna. The music becomes joyful as the lyrics of the closing act "Life," composed of primitive shaman chants remade into verse, decant, "Here we are, we are their God, but who is the God of Nautilus? Whose God is Jupiter?" It is probably the beginning of a new story, certainly not the end.
"Everyone is someone else's God."
Lots of ideas, in "Aggiovaggio," good technique, sounds, harmonies, energy, psychedelia, a trip to be approached with the booklet in hand to fully enjoy it in its entirety. Given the instrumental lineup, it is obvious that the rhythm plays the lead, and so it will also remain difficult to stay still while listening. Supercanifradiciadespiaredosi are truly engaging!

At last someone extolling the artwork, because in the last decades liquid music has caused this physical relationship between music and medium to be lost, probably some neophytes will fall in love with this union today, while the older ones like me can only enjoy this comeback.
Of the album that travels at the speed of a 45 rpm for better sound quality, 300 copies were printed, so what are you waiting for to buy one? At least out of curiosity or to remember the good old days. MS
