Il chitarrista Aldo Pinelli è per il Rock Progressivo argentino un nome oramai radicato, grazie ai lavori realizzati con la band Habitat, Invernalia o nella sua carriera da solista. L’artista nel tempo ha toccato differenti culture sonore, dalla musica Progressive Rock alla Celtica, Ambient e antica, un vero amante della ricerca e della struttura a tutto tondo.
Invernalia è al momento il fulcro della propria arte, con questo logo incide nel 2015 l’album omonimo e nel 2022 “Tenebras”.
Gli Invernalia si esibiscono dal vivo al St. Alban's College di Lomas de Zamora (Buenos Aires) la notte del 9 novembre 2022, qui nel concerto suonano classici della band Hábitat e anche della carriera solista. Il risultato lo si può apprezzare in questo album intitolato “Live At Spring Prog Fest”. Suonano assieme a lui Agustin Laspada (tastiere), Santiago Ghione (basso) e Daniel Vibart (batteria e percussioni). Ospite Paula Dolcera al flauto.
Dell’evento fanno parte anche Julita Diaz come ballerina, Jeremias Vibart alle proiezioni video e assistenza laser, e Diana Vibart per il palcoscenico.
Il concerto viene aperto da “La Primer Labradora Espacial-Cabalgando Sobre Rombos”, medley tratto dal primo album della band Invernalia del 2015. L’andamento gioioso mette in evidenza le caratteristiche tecniche di Pinelli ben supportate dal gruppo il quale non cerca mai di sovrapporre vigorosamente i propri suoni con quelli della chitarra. Lo strumentale ha nel DNA la storia del Rock Progressivo del sud America in senso generale, fra cambi di tempo e d’umore che tuttavia tendono a restare prettamente sul solare. Dallo stesso album è eseguita “Pelea En La Cima”, nel brano cantato dal sentore anni ’80 si può apprezzare l’intervento del flauto di Dolcera, così come nella malinconica “Otro Amor Caído”. Cresce l’andamento in “El Reloj De Péndulo”, più vicino alla formula canzone classica. Un immersione nel Prog quello maggiormente classico la si approccia attraverso i brani tratti dalla discografia del progetto Habitat, con lo strumentale “Periplo” tratto da “De Respirar En La Furia”, un classico della band apprezzato nel 2010 anche dai Progawards. “Perdiendo Sueños” ritorna verso la canzone e siamo nell’anno 2022 con “Tenebras”, così con “La Silla Ardiente”.
Fra i momenti più alti del concerto si trova “Los Patos Se Transforman En Cisnes”, altro tradizionale Prog con accenni a Steve Hackett e del flauto. Il disco si conclude con tre bonus tracks, inediti registrati in studio intitolati “Se Oscurece Pero Brilla”, la breve e fulminea “Las Nalgas Hermanas” e “Ruinas”.
Questo concerto mette in luce le capacità compositive e tecniche di Pinelli, una carriera artistica concentrata in una sola serata dove il Prog si mescola con la canzone. La musica non ha confini, ogni nazione mette del proprio folclore fra le note, ma quando ci sono contaminazioni provenienti da altre parti, come per esempio dall’Inghilterra grazie a quel sound tipico di band come Genesis o King Crimson, allora il risultato diventa quantomeno interessante. Qui l’Argentina si sente in prevalenza, e anche l’amore che Pinelli mette nella sua arte. MS

Guitarist Aldo Pinelli is for Argentine Progressive Rock a name now entrenched, thanks to the work he has done with the band Habitat, Invernalia or in his solo career. The artist over time has touched different sound cultures, from Progressive Rock music to Celtic, Ambient and ancient, a true lover of research and structure in the round.
Invernalia is currently the focus of his own art, with this logo he records the self-titled album in 2015 and "Tenebras" in 2022.
Invernalia performs live at St. Alban's College in Lomas de Zamora (Buenos Aires) on the night of November 9, 2022, here in the concert they play classics from the band Hábitat and also from their solo career. The result can be appreciated in this album entitled "Live At Spring Prog Fest." Playing with him are Agustin Laspada (keyboards), Santiago Ghione (bass) and Daniel Vibart (drums and percussion). Guest Paula Dolcera on flute.
Also part of the event are Julita Diaz as dancer, Jeremias Vibart on video projections and laser assistance, and Diana Vibart for the stage.
The concert is opened by "La Primer Labradora Espacial-Cabalgando Sobre Rombos", a medley from the band's 2015 debut album Invernalia. The joyful progression highlights Pinelli's technical characteristics well supported by the band, which never tries to vigorously overlap its sounds with those of the guitar. The instrumental has the history of South American Progressive Rock in its DNA in a general sense, between tempo and mood changes that nevertheless tend to remain purely on the sunny side. From the same album is performed "Pelea En La Cima", in the song sung with a hint of the 1980s, one can appreciate the intervention of Dolcera's flute, as well as in the melancholic "Otro Amor Caído". The Prog grows in "El Reloj De Péndulo" closer to the classic song formula. A dive into Prog the more classical one approaches it through tracks from the Habitat project discography, with the instrumental "Periplo" taken from "De Respirar En La Furia," a classic of the band also appreciated in 2010 by Progawards. "Perdiendo Sueños" returns toward the song and we are in the year 2022 with "Tenebras" so with "La Silla Ardiente".
Among the high points of the concert is "Los Patos Se Transforman En Cisnes," another traditional Prog with hints of Steve Hackett and some flute. The disc concludes with three bonus tracks, unreleased studio recordings entitled "Se Oscurece Pero Brilla", the short and lightning-fast "Las Nalgas Hermanas" and "Ruinas."
This concert highlights Pinelli's compositional and technical skills, an artistic career concentrated in a single evening where Prog mixes with song. Music has no borders, each nation puts some of its own folklore between the notes, but when there are contaminations from elsewhere, such as from England thanks to that typical sound of bands like Genesis or King Crimson, then the result becomes at least interesting. Argentina can be heard in prevalence here, and also the love that Pinelli puts into his art. MS
