Il Pop, quando vuole, sa essere un ottimo viatico per concetti non banali, proprio come ha saputo fare negli anni il genere Rock. La musica in generale è quindi il mezzo per esprimere al meglio sensazioni, argomenti e prese di posizione. Le etichette indipendenti spesso ricoprono un ruolo fondamentale nel dare voce ad artisti che altrimenti troverebbero difficoltà a emergere dall'underground sonoro, anche se oggi la tecnologia viene incontro a queste esigenze in maniera considerevole. Da non sottovalutare, quindi, quei musicisti che si adoperano alacremente per raggiungere più pubblico possibile per annunciare un messaggio non ordinario.
Il progetto Cobol Pongide ha una cognizione della musica ben specifica, malgrado i generi miscelati che vanno dal Pop al Post Punk, passando per l'Avant-Synth, possano deviare la realtà delle cose. Molti sono i punti di congiunzione con gli anni '80, quando alcuni artisti si divertono a creare musica con l'ausilio di computer d'epoca e tastiere giocattolo. Il progetto, sin dal primo album del 2009, vede comporsi con l'umano Cobol e il robot cantante Emiglino Cicala. Racconti cosmonauti sono alla base degli intenti, dove l'astronauta è un libero imprenditore del coraggio, un operaio del progresso interplanetario.
Musica fantascientifica e visionaria in "Kosmodrom"; dopo "Musica Per Anziani Cosmonauti" (2009), "Vita Da Spaziale" (2017), e "Estremofilia Cosmica E Operaia", un altro capitolo di Cobol, il quale pubblica anche tre saggi sullo sfruttamento spaziale, tra cui "Marte Oltre Marte" (DeriveApprodi – 2019).
Anticipato dal singolo "Lada-Vaz (1964)", l'album è formato da ben diciassette canzoni per oltre un'ora di musica. Il libretto che accompagna il disco all'interno è nutrito di testi e proclami, simpaticamente rappresentati dalla efficiente grafica di Andro Malis e la foto per mano di Maria Cassa. Molto simpatico il logo "Tastierine Giocattolo Nello Spazio" a supporto dell'intento artistico.
Esisteva negli anni '80, nel pieno del suo successo, un cantautore soprannominato Arlecchino Elettronico: era Alberto Camerini con i suoi successi "cosmetici", dove le canzoni miste fra dance e elettronica facevano divertire ma allo stesso tempo pensare il grande pubblico. Lui e sicuramente la band coetanea Devo, sono fra i punti di riferimento per Cobol; ciò si evince sin dall'ascolto dell'iniziale "Cosmutopista Sentimentale". L'effettistica gioca un ruolo di primo piano, così la voce robotica. I suoni rimandano ai giochi elettronici e inseriscono l'ascoltatore in un mondo fantastico dove il Cyber Punk detta legge.
"Flessibilità" è un'ode a Ufo Robot, e "Datemi Il Genoma" una fuga dalla realtà, il tutto sempre su ritmiche elettroniche e melodie dalla facile fruizione, come solo un robot sa concepire.
Il suono, in senso generale, viene usato come accompagnamento d'atmosfera, minimale e diretto, perché il soggetto principale resta sempre il testo. "Una Comune Extraterrestre", per esempio, descrive la vita in un pianeta lontano con molti punti in comune con il nostro; e poi è la volta del singolo "Lada-Vaz! (1964)", dove la rivoluzione attraverso analogie è declamata. Il Punk si fa strada prepotentemente fra i suoni, badando alla sostanza dei concetti. In analisi anche il nostro essere, descritto in maniera ermetica e dissacrante in "Umani Tanto Strani". "Team Yucatàn" è convergenza evolutiva che di base ha un marsupiale come soggetto. In breve, l'album si evolve su questo binario sagace e acuto.
Con "Kosmodrom" sembra di essere tornati totalmente negli anni '80, ma per analizzare cosa siamo noi oggi. Un balzo temporale in cui la nostalgia potrebbe giocare un ruolo importante per i più attempati di voi. Un disco che diverte e si diverte, autocelebrando un universo cosmico che è forse migliore di questo reale. In un periodo pieno di stress, c'è quindi bisogno di staccare dalla routine attraverso un bel viaggio cosmico, almeno per un'ora. Cobol Pongide è senza dubbio il nuovo Arlecchino spaziale. MS.

Pop music, when it wants to, can be an excellent vehicle for non-trivial concepts, just like Rock music has done over the years. Music in general is therefore a means to express sensations, topics, and positions in the best way possible. Independent labels often play a fundamental role in giving a voice to artists who would otherwise struggle to emerge from the sonic underground, even if technology today meets these needs to a considerable extent. It's worth noting, therefore, those musicians who work tirelessly to reach a wider audience to announce a non-ordinary message.
The Cobol Pongide project has a very specific understanding of music, despite the mixed genres that range from Pop to Post Punk, passing through Avant-Synth, which may deviate from reality. There are many points of connection with the 80s, when some artists had fun creating music with the help of vintage computers and toy keyboards. The project, since its first album in 2009, features the human Cobol and the robot singer Emiglino Cicala. Cosmonaut stories are at the base of the intentions, where the astronaut is a free entrepreneur of courage, a worker of interplanetary progress.
Science fiction and visionary music in "Kosmodrom"; after "Musica Per Anziani Cosmonauti" (2009), "Vita Da Spaziale" (2017), and "Estremofilia Cosmica E Operaia", another chapter by Cobol, who also publishes three essays on space exploitation, including "Marte Oltre Marte" (DeriveApprodi – 2019).
Preceded by the single "Lada-Vaz (1964)", the album features seventeen songs for over an hour of music. The booklet that accompanies the disc inside is filled with texts and proclamations, charmingly represented by the efficient graphics of Andro Malis and the photo by Maria Cassa. The "Tastierine Giocattolo Nello Spazio" logo is very cute, supporting the artistic intent.
In the 80s, there was a singer-songwriter nicknamed Arlecchino Elettronico: Alberto Camerini with his "cosmetic" successes, where songs mixed dance and electronic music made the general public laugh and think. He and the contemporary band Devo are among Cobol's points of reference; this is evident from the first track "Cosmutopista Sentimentale". The sound effects play a leading role, as does the robotic voice. The sounds recall video games and insert the listener into a fantastic world where Cyber Punk reigns supreme.
"Flessibilità" is an ode to Ufo Robot, and "Datemi Il Genoma" is an escape from reality, all set to electronic rhythms and melodies that are easy to enjoy, as only a robot can conceive.
The sound, in general, is used as atmospheric accompaniment, minimal and direct, because the main subject is always the text. "Una Comune Extraterrestre", for example, describes life on a distant planet with many points in common with our own; and then there's the single "Lada-Vaz! (1964)", where revolution through analogies is proclaimed. Punk makes its way forcefully through the sounds, focusing on the substance of the concepts. Our being is also analyzed, described in a hermetic and desecrating way in "Umani Tanto Strani". "Team Yucatàn" is evolutionary convergence based on a marsupial subject. In short, the album evolves on this shrewd and acute track.
With "Kosmodrom" it seems like we've gone back to the 80s, but to analyze what we are today. A time jump where nostalgia could play an important role for the older among you. A record that entertains and enjoys itself, self-celebrating a cosmic universe that may be better than this real one. In a period full of stress, there's a need to disconnect from routine through a beautiful cosmic journey, at least for an hour. Cobol Pongide is undoubtedly the new spatial Harlequin. MS.
